LUBRICANT RECOMMENDATIONS
1 - oil quality
The engine lubrication oils are classified according to three quality levels: oil (s) mineral (s) (ESSO Uniflo, TOTAL ACTIVA / QUARTZ 5000) oil (s) semi-synthetic (s) (ESSO ULTRA, TOTAL ACTIVA / QUARTZ 7000) oil (s) synthetic (s) (ESSO ULTRON, TOTAL ACTIVA / QUARTZ 9000) In addition to the current range of oils, it is proposed for vehicles from model year 2000, an oil called Energy Saving; This oil contributes to the objective of controlling the fuel covered by the brand. IMPERATIVE: Energy Saving oil should not be used in engines prior to model year 2000 as well as in motors XU10J4R, DW12TED4, EW12J4, 1580 and SPI engines SOFIM, well, oil 0W30 should not be used in engines mentioned above. Automobiles PEUGEOT recommends the quality of lubricants used in the documents of the vehicle: User Guide warranty periodic reviews CAUTION: For vehicles sold since the 1999 model year, and respecting the normal maintenance plan, the use of an approved semi-synthetic oil is imperative. Agencies classify oils according to their performance and assign a quality label visible on the packaging: API: American Petroleum Institute ACEA: Association of European Automobile Manufacturers NLGI: National Lubrication Grease Institute The grade (viscosity) should be chosen according to climate zone of the country of use.
