JMAG BASIC TRAINING Thursday, September 4th

The objective of this basic training is to give new JMAG users a general overview of their new software. From the
creation of the shape to the analysis of results, all basic functions will be explored.
The course will be a mix of theory and practical exercises using the software.

Program 1. General introduction: to get familiar with JMAG


• How to create a project
• How to use JMAG files

2. Shape: to save time to create the shape


• JMAG functions to create a shape
• Use of an external CAD software

3. Materials & conditions: to parameter properly your model


• Description of JMAG conditions
• Materials properties and JMAG database
• JMAG circuit

4. Mesh: to choose what is the best adapted for you


• Manual mesh
• Automatic mesh
• Adaptive mesh

5. Post processing: to analysis efficiently your results


• Vector plots
• Contour
• Selection graphs
• Animation creation

Intended Audience This course is intended for :


- Users of the software
- Also people who subcontract Electromechanical and wish to understand and see
how useful simulation can be for them and to be able to check some simulation
results
- Professionals from Power Electronics, Motor Drives and Engineering
companies
- Post-graduated students

Participation Fee 500 Euros for Industrial participants


300 Euros for Academic participants

General Information Participants will have to bring their laptop.


POWERSYS will provide them with temporary licences if needed.
All trainers will speak in English.
