REVELATIONS OF LOVE

Chapter 1: In love with David

"Hey, David rock band is in the town!" exclaimed Radhika. "David band?? I m not gonna miss it. Come
let's go to the concert” responded Saraswathy.

The whole chandigarh town was talking about David. It was 6 o clock evening. Crows flying homewards,
heavy traffic destined towards kalinga open theatre. Radhika and Saraswathy drove a pleasure ride in their
scooty pept to the theatre to attend concert. Heavy traffic made their ride horrible.

As they entered, the curtain was raised and the anchor shouted "welcome". The crowd calmed down.
He asked the crowd to welcome David and group with a round of applause. David appeared in the stage amidst a
big round of nonstop applause. He wore a unbuttoned sleeveless silky shirt. As he raised his hand to wave the
audience, his muscle in abs became visible. Girls shouted in awe. As he banged the guitar it produced a
mesmerising effect in the whole of theatre. As he started his head banging and rock performance, people came
near stage to bang their head and dance to the beats of the rock guitarist. Saraswathy and Radhika rushed to get
a good place. They were fortunate enough to stand in the first row itself. They started to bang their head and
dance madly. The whole crowd enjoyed the power packed performance for an hour. Slowly slowly the energy
level of audience came down and people resumed to their seats. The show ended with all cry of praise to David.
The show ended and all were leaving the theatre. People were commenting "what a performance". Saraswathy
did not have mind to leave the place. She thought to herself “won’t Cupid’s arrow pierce David’s heart and come
towards me???’ but was shy enough to share her love with Radhika. Radika was trying to force her out of the
dancing spot. As they were starting to leave, David's personal secretary invited Saraswathy and Radhika for a
personal dinner the next day in hotel Aryans.

"We r so lucky to have invited by David" exclaimed Radhika. "Yes yaar what a privilege" exclaimed
Saraswathy. "By the way what made them choose us?" asked Radhika. "That’s the benefit of being in the front
row" exclaimed Saraswathy.

On the next day Radhika and Saraswathy washed their scooty pept to go for the dinner with David.
Radhika took the latest Patiala suit with many works in it and adorn herself. Saraswathy wore traditional jeans
and a gorgeous T-Shirt. Both looked in their best. They reached the restaurant in the appointed time. They were
welcomed by David's pa in the entrance of Aryan's.

They walked through the red carpet to reach David's room. The room was decorated nicely. Seats were
allocated for each of the members. There were only three seats for their surprise. One with the name "friend",
other with "princess" and the other with "prince". The wall behind the chair of princess was decorated so well.
David appeared with a majestic look. With the words "very warm welcome" he shook hands with both Saraswathy
and Radhika. Pointing towards the seat princess he said to Saraswathy "This is your seat" and said "please" to
Radhika pointing towards chair labelled friend. He took his seat on the chair labelled "prince".

The question "how did u like the concert" was more than enough for the chatterbox Saraswathy to say
all flattery about him. All proceeded to a sumptuous dinner. In the end of the dinner he handed her a rose saying
"i am the rock prince. I want you to be the princess". Her face showed the feminine shy.

Both were in intimate love relationship from then on.

Two years passed by....

"you should not have done like this. I do not want you to be my lover. I break up with you forever" said
Saraswathy to David on the river bank of Yamuna and she walked fast.

David tried to follow him. She said "i say please don't follow me" and rushed to the scooty and she left.

David was found in his tears in the bank. He tried to come back to her again and again. But she was so
successful in increasing the tears in the eyes of David.

One year later...

Saraswathy was all happy and enjoying her days. She visits balls with her friend, goes for dance parties,
night clubs, movie with her friends. Her face always shows a happy simle with no tinge of sadness.

David on the other hand was completely broken. He spends his each and every day with much difficulty.
Each day he wets his pillow with tears. He recollects those glorious days and gets nostalgic and he dies each
day. Though he does his regular work his face is void of any glow.

David at times tries to connect with Saraswathy but she is so cleaver not to entertain him.

Chapter 2: Ashraful falls to Saraswathy

At this instance Saraswathy goes for a picnic with Radhika to Agra. Taj mahal is the main place where
they both wanted to visit and enjoy. They visited the whole place and enjoyed they beauty of the place. As they
completed visiting the place they thought of sitting somewhere and relaxing. As they sat under a tree to relax
Radhika put her head on Saraswathy’s lap and started crying. She remembered the moments she spent with her
ex-lover who ditched him in the same time Saraswathy ditched David. Days were tough for Radhika unlike for
Saraswathy. In Taj she remembered all those good days where they both romanced. “chup. What’s this? Get up.
Don’t cry like a child in this public” said Saraswathy. But there seems no sign of Radhika stop weeping. “Stop.... If
you want sleep on the floor and cry. Don’t soil my new jeans with your tears”. Hurt by these words and inability of
Saraswathy understand the pain of being ditched by the lover Radhika got up and went to the room they booked.
Saraswathy again took a round at the Taj to enjoy the beauty of the site.

As she was enjoying the site she saw her classmate who studied with her in degree college.
“Saraswathy” he shouted and moved towards her as soon as he spotted her. It was such a great thing for
Ashraful to meet her in a place which is erected to celebrate love. “Allah... shukriya” he cried within himself.
Saraswathy looked at her best. But Ashraful was as simple as ever. He resembled an anti-hero in literary
characters.

As Ashraful saw Saraswathy he was taken to the first day on which he saw her. She was not as modern
as she is now. She resembled a mature average looking family girl. Something sparked in his heart as he saw
her. From then on he started to observe her very closely. He was impressed by her character and started jotting
her characteristics one after other. It was the first Ramzan after meeting Saraswathy. On the last day of Ramzan
fast he sat down and took the note in which he wrote his expectation about his would-be on the last day of
previous Ramzan fast. He compared it with all the characters he noted down. Most of them matched with few
minor exception. He thought to himself that she is the one Allah has kept for him. But he was reluctant to tell it to
his friends nor to her directly.

“So nice to meet you here Saraswathy” he exclaimed. Me too “to meet you in this monument of love”
and gave a false wink. “Ah” exclaimed Ashraful within himself and thought to himself “situations prove Alla’s
promise to me true”. “Hm... so.. great to meet you in this place which celebrates love” replied Saraswathy.

She patted on her back and asked “shaadi.... marriage... when?” “Aha she is patting on my back. I am
thinking rightly” he thought within himself and said “thinking seriously these days”. “Consider me know” she said
with a false smile. Ashraful started to sweat. “Ah... no...” he dragged. “Don’t be shy. You be my Shajahan and be
my Mumtaz. I want to be your begam”. Ashraful could not believe what he is hearing.

By now Radhika came and called Saraswathy “it’s getting late. Come let’s go back to the room”.
Ashraful and Saraswathy exchanged their mobile numbers. Both bid good bye and Saraswathy came with
Radhika to their room. She said “one more fell in the trap” to Radhika. Radhika said, “you are doing unforgivable
sin. You do not know the pain of feeling ditched”. “He has applied for masters in the college we are studying. He
is quite talented as well. Once he applies there are alot of chances that he gets admission. He is an innocent guy.
He can be of a great use to me. You and your true love. Life is fun. Trapping somebody is maza of life”

Three months later.

The popular idea ringtone “i am pumpkin pumkin honey buny” rang in Sangith’s mobile. “good news
Sangitha. I got selected in Sagar university” told Ashraful in great excitement. “wow. You are coming to my
college. Great baby.....” exclaimed Saraswathy.
Ashraful says goodbye to his parents who live in Muzzafarnagar. It was cool winter time. As he was
going to board the train the weather suddenly gets changed. It became cloudy. For a student of chemistry like
him change of colour meant lot to him. He too thought this change of the colour of the cloud is like a change of
the colour of litmus paper. “Does this cloud indicate something dark I am going to face in this new journey?”
asked Ashraful to himself. Being Friday he made it a point to go to the masque nearby his house to read namas.
Afterwhich he rushed to the railway station.

Chapter 3: Ashraful in Sagar University

The words of his loving mother “keep yourself pure unto Allah” was always hovering in his minds. He got
in the Sangam express and kept his luggages in the side upper berth. Having kept the luggages in their place he
read a meditation on Quran written by his father and lied down. As he lay down Saraswathy came into picture.
Volley of questions came to his mind:

“Did she really say “I will become your begam?”.

“No. No. No. How will a smart girl like her choose an anti-hero like me?

“Sometimes Allah might have induced this thought in her mind because she was the exact type of girl I
was longing for.

“The coming two years of my MBA studies is going to reveal to me if she did mean that or not. More
than earning MBA these two years will give more clarity about Saraswathy”

As these thoughts came by a small visually challenged boy who sang a song with the accompaniment of
a music instrument made up of empty tin and a rod and a string attached to it. The song went like this:

“zindagi ka safar hai yeh kaisa safar

Koi samja nahi koi jaana nahi”

These words came very true to Ashraful. He gave him a ten rupees note and asked the boy to sing the
song again and listened to the lyrics carefully. He recollected the cloud which came to his heart like a bad omen
and now this song too communicating something.

He asked to himself “am i in right track?”

He did not allow those thoughts to grow. He lay in the berth and closed his eys. As he closed his eyes
he imagined Saraswathy in all glorious mood waiting to receive him. He went into a world of fantasy where he
visualizes going class together in rickshaw with her, meeting with her in cafe coffee day, going to picnic to
waterfalls and playing with each other, spending some evening time in pizza hut and so on. The time passed by
and he was about to reach the station. “By now Saraswathy will be waiting for me in the station to receive me.
Still I will buzz her once again to say that the train is nearing the station”. He dialled her number. But no one lifted
it. He comforted himself saying “she may be in the counter taking platform ticket. That’s why she is not lifting the
phone”.

The train reached the station. He got down and dialled the number again. Now Saraswathy lifted the
phone and told him “Hi Ashraful. Something special? Calling early this morning.” He got upset. Yet he said “I am
joining today and I am in station. I spoke to you day before yesterday and you said you are coming to receive
me.” “Oh yes. You are right. You mentioned about it. You know studies here is so tough. It just got slipped out of
my mind. If you ask any vender he will guide you as to how to reach Sagar university” said Saraswathy. “May be I
will also become this forgetful after entering the campus” thought Ashraful to himself.

Two days passed.

“Why did she not meet me till two days of my arrival in this campus?” asked Ashraful to himself. At that
particular instant he gets Saraswathy’s call who said “Hi Ashraful.... I was missing you for two days you know.
Would you like to take me to pizza hut?” “My pleasure. Why not. I will come in rickshaw to your hostel at 6.00
pm.” “That would be fine” said Saraswathy.
Ashraful took out the new black jeans and sandal coloured kurta and his new taqiyah. He hired a cycle
rickshaw to the the girls hostel. The rickshawala was a muslim. Seating in the rickshaw he greeted him “As-
Salamu Alaykum?”. “Wa laikum As Salaam!” greeted the rickshawala back. He got the whereabouts of the
nearest mosque.

As he reached the hostel he called Saraswathy. She said over phone “please wait. I am coming in just
fifteen minutes”. He stood waiting for her infront of the hostel for thirty minutes. It was such a scary experience for
him to wait infront of a girls hostel for half an hour. He was thinking “will peole think bad of me”. Yet the waiting
did not mean much as he was eagerly waiting to meet Saraswathy. She came out leisurely. Saying “Hi” she
waved her hands to Ashraful. Ashraful wanted to run into the hostel gate and embrace her. But he controlled
himself.

As she reached she shook hands with her and sat with him in the rickshaw. She started inquiring of the
wellbeing of him and the past two days. “stop. Stop” she told the rickshawala.

“where is the pizza hut?” he asked

Saying, “wait. I will come in a minute. Two days back I gave few books to Xerox. He said he will give it to
me by now today. I will just pick it and come” she went to the Xerox centre and bought the book. After getting the
book she sighed to herself “my work is complete. That too for free”. She got into the rickshaw again and said
“let’s go”. Both reached the pizza hut and had a nice time there.

Chapter 4: Ashraful and friends

Ashraful’s studies was going good in the university. He got good friends as well. His close friends was
Bajrang. Bajrang comes from a small village of Gulbarga in Karnataka. He had faced a lot of difficulties in his life
and strived to success in each stage. Bajrang used to learn Hindi from Ashraful. Both Bajrang and Ashraful are
religious. Bajrang unlike his name is a strong devotee of Lord Brahma and worships him with all piety. Even
though both have different religious convictions both get along well. Apart from doing studies together, they both
share life experiences and learn from each other.
