Turmeric, the spice used in Indian cooking for its unique flavour which also gives a yellow- orange
colour. It’s medicinal properties have been known for ages. In recent times, this spice has been
getting enormous attention from researchers and health care professionals around the world, due to
its health benefits. Turmeric is composed of certain compounds known as curcuminoids, most active
among them is curcumin.[1]
Curcumin has been studied to have various therapeutic implications as an anti-fungal[2], anti-viral
[3], anti- inflammatory [4] as well as anti-oxidant effects.
