Monitoring:
After the PV system has been installed, it should be added to monitor platform which is provided by
the inverter company. Since each one provides a gateway that communicate with the inverter and share
its data registers over a website. In addition, they allow to make a physical distribution for the PV panels
as reality, so that the troubleshooting process for fault component can be performed easily. This
document will provide all steps of adding a PV system to monitoring website based on inverter type.
     SolarEdge Inverter:
The SolarEdge monitoring portal enables monitoring the technical and financial performance of one
or more Photovoltaic sites with SolarEdge equipment. It provides accurate information about present
and past performance of each module individually and about the system as a whole, enabling you to
detect, pinpoint and troubleshoot faults, efficiently manage maintenance operations and analyze site
profitability. Furthermore, it enables to track the power, voltage and current that produced by PV panels
through the installed power optimizers and the converted through the inverter.
To use the SolarEdge monitoring portal, your system installer will create and register your system in the
Portal and then add you as the system owner. The process of installing a system on website will be
demonstrated clearly in this document.
Steps of adding new site:
1- After creating your account, you can enter to the monitoring portal through the following link:
http://www.monitoring.solaredge.com/
                                      Figure 1 SolarEdge monitoring portal
2- From the site tab from main screen, you can check the status of installed system and the
amount of produced power. In addition, you can add new site by click on “create New Site”
   button.

3- By moving to the window of creating new site as shown in the figures below, you should enter
personal and location details in site details tab and click “Next”.

                                      Figure 4 Location details
4- In the “site equipment” tab, the details related to PV panel type and the serial number of the
   installed inverter could be added.

5- After creating the site, you can access to site page which permit to show the collected
information from the system through “dashboard “tab. In addition, you can exhibit the Layout
of PV system which shows the schematic outline that represents inverters, their strings and the
modules in each string by moving to “Layout” tab.
                                        Figure 6: Site page
6- By moving to “Admin” tab, you can to modify the physical layout of PV panels (such as tilt angle
and Azimuth) and assign the strings as they are installed in reality. The figures demonstrate this
   step.

7- To assign inverters and PV panels, pick and place each group of PV panel and inverter and then
assign each serial Number in left vertical bar to identical component (PV panel or inverter)
regarding to Micro-map that shown below in figure 8.

8- After assigning PV panels and Inverter, you can assign the string of PV panels by click on “next”
button as shown in figure 9.
9- After dividing the PV panels into strings as shown figure 9, click on “publish” button to confirm
   the selections.
Figure 10 Publish the assigned Strings
10- By finishing the installation process, return to “Layout” tab in main screen and right click on the
inverter and select “Exit Standby Mode” from “choose operation” as shown in figure11.

11- Finally, to provide the access permission for the owner of site to monitor his system, go to
“admin” tab and select “Site Access” as shown in figure 12.

12- Next, Add the user email and his role through the monitoring process as shown in figure 13. If
the user is owner of installed system, click in check box “Site Owner” and click “save” to add the
    user.

13- In addition, it is necessary to provide the access for partner companies that installed the PV
system or provide financial support for Synaptic solar. Move to “Association Accounts” and click
on “Grant Access” to add the company account.
