The document describes the engineering and fabrication of a brine system piping project to connect Tanks 21 and 31 to a brine injection system. A DN65 piping network will be designed and fabricated to connect the tanks to Tank 28's inlet manifold. Removable spools on the tanks will be temporarily dismantled to connect the new piping. The piping will be routed to a new centrifugal brine pump via a TEE and supply flange. The project involves designing piping spools to temporarily inject brine into crude storage tanks.

INTRODUCTION

Engineering and fabrication of brine system for tanks 21 and 31.

Purpose of project is to design and fabricate a DN65 piping that would be connected to the inlet
manifold of Tank 28 and tank 31 for brine system injection into the tanks.

Tanks are designed to connect to a single manifold via a DN250 removal spool.

The removable spool is to be temporary dismantled to enable the connection of the new DN65
interconnecting piping spool at each inlet end for the two tanks. The piping shall be commingled at a TEE
and routed to the discharge nozzle of a new centrifugal brine pump to be installed on the deck.

The inlet of the pump shall be routed from the deck through steel penetrations that shall be provided to
a new flange that shall supply the brine to the pump.

A flanged spool on the supply line shall also be temporary dismantled to enable connection of a new
spool that will link the pump and the brine supply line.

Service: brine System

Purpose: piping spools for temporary injection of brine into crude storage tank.

Design Temp: Ambient

Design pressure: 9bar

Maximum working pressure: 9.9bar

Hydrotest Pressure: 15bar

Pipe size: (DN65) 2-1/2” SCH 40

Material Specification for pipes: GB 5312 410 Class II (Carbon Steel)

Checklist Observation Recommendation

Inspect existing piping and Tanks 29 and 31 are in confined
equipment space. Access to tank is not
easy.

Review possible piping Piping will be routed to make

route use of existing supports. Where
there are not, new support
would be constructed.
Piping will pass through
penetrations from deck to deck.
Piping would be routed through
2 decks and two sections on
same deck.
Inspect Tie-in Point The removable spools where
inspected.
Evaluate existing support Few support, new ones need to
for possible anchorage be constructed
Take physical Confined space constraint. No
measurements permit to work
