WHAT EXACTLY IS A CONVENTION CENTER.
A convention center is a conference facility that is designed to hold an
event . individuals and groups gather to promote and share common
interests. Convention centers need to offer enough floor area to
accommodate thousands of attendees.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONVENTION HOTEL
AND CONVENTION CENTER.
• Host events without providing accommodations for attendees, while
  convention hotels often host events and provide accommodations.
• Convention centers and hotels can also work together to provide meeting
  space and convenient nearby lodging.
• Now a days there isn't anymore difference between convention hotels and
  convention center's because to attract corporate with more facilities now
  both providing accommodation facilities.
What is the difference between a conference ,
convention, congress, and meeting?
• CONVENTION: Gathering of delegates, representatives, and members of a
  membership or industry organization convened for a common purpose.
• MEETING : An event where the primary activity of the participants is to
  attend educational sessions, participate in discussions, social functions , or
  attend other organized events
• CONFERENCE:
• 1. participatory meeting designed for discussion, fact ,finding, problem
  solving and consultation.
• 2 .an event used by any organization to need and exchange views, convey a
  message, open a debate or give publicity to some area of opinion on a
  specific issue.
Importance of Convention Center & Exhibition Hall
A building designed to hold a convention, where individuals and/or groups
gather to promote and share views on some common interests,
is convention Centre . Convention centers are used for holding
conferences and exhibitions. And exhibition hall is the large area hall to
display pictures, sculptures, or other objects of interest that people notice
or admire.
The Convention & Exhibition Industry has grown with the economic
expansion and urban development. The convention Centre & Exhibition
hall set a new bar for high performance space frame building with lighting
fixtures to provide the variety of lighting levels. Exhibition Hall uses both
direct and indirect natural light to create an elegant circulation corridor
providing an iconic, unconventional and accessible space to the visitors.

PARKING / DRIVEWAY / SIGNAGE
Provision of all on-site parking should conform to local municipal
by-laws. This is inclusive of signage which needs to be of an
acceptable condition, be clearly visible, ensuring that delegates
are correctly guided to the appropriate entrances at all times, with
appropriate safety measures in place.
Sufficient parking spaces should be provided to accommodate a
likely number of delegates.
Provision of adequate, fit for purpose, on-site and/or designated
parking areas, which have to be tidy, well maintained, clearly
defined and well lit with clear signage
BUSINESS CENTRE
Fully equipped and staffed, fit for purpose Business
Centre within the venue or within easy access to the
venue. Additional business support and secretarial
services available
 The necessary office equipment to offer basic business
 services. (i.e. the ability to photocopy, print, send &
 receive faxes, and access the internet).
PUBLIC AREAS
Outstanding interior design and overall impression.
Professional finish to all aspects of decor.
Interesting architectural features, objects of interest,
artwork and objects d’art.
Outstanding appearance, maintenance and condition of
furniture.
Acceptable levels of lighting appropriately positioned for
safety and comfort in all public areas, including sufficient
lighting on stairways and landings.

Purpose built room/s within the event venue with
dressing tables, make-up lighting, mirrors, showers,
hanging spaces, a lounge and a dining area
MEDICAL / FIRST AID ROOM
A fit for purpose medical room equipped with a
gurney, bed, blood pressure equipment, heart
defibrillator, wheelchair, oxygen, etc. should be
available.

                FAN SHAPE
Arc: side and rear wall configuration may approximate
to an octagonal plan. Ensures good direct sound but the
side seats maybe obscured for screen viewing
60 hexagon: c a common arrange multipurpose
theatres , allowing flexibility in the stage and
proscenium
rectangle: most multi purpose halls are rectangular
with an internal or extended stage. Side walls may be
inclined towards the stage which contribute to lateral
reflections but require faceting or acoustic
fan shape: the angle of splay varies up to 60,this shape
is preferred for lecture theatres, giving best sound and
screen viewing , the curved rear wall must be
acoustically treated
SEATING TYPES
CONTINENTAL:
Row spacing shall provide clear space not less than 45.7 cm
between rows of 18 chairs or less: 50.8cm between rows of 35
chairs or less 53.3em between rows of 45 chairs or less:55.9cm
between rows of 45 or more from back of one chair to the
front of the most forward projection of the chair.
There shall be exits at 168cm min clear width along each side.
Minimum width of aisles is 112cm clear.
Standard seating
 Clear space of not less than 30.5cm from back of one chair to
front of the other.
Rows of chairs shall not exceed 14 chairs between aisles and 7
from to row end.
Aisles serving 60 seats or less shall Be a minimum of 76cm
aisles serving more than 60 shall be not less than 90 cm
