To Whom it May Concern,
Thank you for taking the time to look at my resume. I feel that I
would be a strong candidate for your school. Throughout my
teaching career I have obtained my bachelor’s degree in Child and
Adolescent Development and will be obtaining my Master of
Curriculum and Instruction, giving me the credentials and tools to
teach elementary school students. Having my bachelor’s degree in
Child and Adolescent Development makes me a unique candidate
by giving me more than the required units to become a transitional
kindergarten teacher.
I believe that every child has something valuable to bring into this
world. I see the strength that every child possesses to create a
positive change, which is something I proudly incorporate into my
lessons and teaching methods. Empathy is a skill my students
learn in my classroom and a skill I model to my students daily. By
creating UDL lessons, I ensure differentiation in my lessons and
teach to each child’s learning strength.
My experiences in teaching vary from teaching in a preschool
setting to teaching adults at a college level. I encourage bilingual
education; I myself am bilingual, and I highly encourage students
to embrace their native language. Within my classroom I create a
safe environment where I embrace multicultural education year-
round in all subject areas. This past summer I had the opportunity
to study in Oxford and observe their school systems. From these
observations I learned a lot about inclusion as well as other
educational practices. Now I have the tools to incorporate their
methods into my own classroom. Within my instruction I foster
the development of a growth mindset by finding the value in our
mistakes. I too am always learning through this profession and
hope to bring that transparency to my classroom.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Sawaya
