Advice from our
What is the importance o£
counselor Mrs. Cantrell:
students making a £our
year plan?
"While the four year plan is
only a. plan and can be
changed, it begins the planning
progress for students as they
think about then college and
career plans."

Explain the importance o£ checking to make sure you have the

classes required to graduate throughout the year:
"Becoming familiar with your transcript allows you to understand your
requirements in high school. Students then begin to take charge of their
future and understand what it takes to successfully complete their high
school career."

students can do tutoring with
teachers to make up credit."
What are the benefits o£ being a mentor?
"You're given open campus lunches, but
one of the greatest benefits is seeing
students improve their grades."

How does it £eel to know you are

helping your underclassmen?
"For me it's one of the biggest feelings of accomplishment I've ever had
the pleasure to experience. Seeing students overcome their obstacles, and
obtain their goals is inspiring and reminds me of how, with the right
amount of perseverance, anything can be accomplished."
-Jenna King (11)

Why did you decide to become a mentor?

"I decided to become a mentor because I believe it was my duty
to help the people younger than me to not only succeed, but not to
make the same mistakes as I did."
What challenges do you £ace as a
mentor? "At times I see in my freshmen when
they just want to give up andre establishing
that motivation is probably the hardest."
-cody Devers (12)
