Do you know that washing hands
regularly is the most necessary factor
for keeping good health? Every human
being comes in contact with germs and
bacteria in their daily life. These
harmful germs are present all around
us like on door knobs, taps, light
switches, railings, etc. People touch
these things while doing their routine
work, without thinking much about it
and with the same hands touch their
face, eyes, nose and sometimes eat food too. While performing these acts, the germs
and bacteria get into the body, causing several diseases. Hence, it is useful for all of us
to know the importance of hand washing. People who are careless about washing their
hands are at a higher risk of catching a cold or flu. Not washing hands can cause gastro
illnesses such as diarrhea.
Washing Hands Correctly
Wash your hands in warm water.
Use soap and lather up for about
20 seconds.
Make sure you rub in between the
fingers and under the nails because
that’s where germs hide. And don’t
forget the wrists!
Rinse and dry well with a clean
towel.
When to Wash Hands
before eating and cooking
after using the bathroom
after cleaning he house
after touching animals
before and after visiting or taking
care of any sick person
after blowing one’s nose,
coughing, or sneezing
after being outside (playing,
gardening, walking, etc.)
Don’t take the power of hand washing
too lightly! The few seconds you spend at the sink could save you trips to the
