Part 2:
The fashion face (rendering)
This is the tutorial of how to color the fashion face drawing. I used adobe Photoshop as medium and you
can use your own, even water colors will look cool…
The process involves applying flat color, shadows, highlight and smudging. I have showed each and
every part individually like first face, then body and so on…, but you can speed up by rendering all at
once. Let’s go.
I used these tools in Photoshop, apart from selection tool and zoom tool, which are so common.
Brush tool Eraser tool smudge tool
And brushes, I have downloaded smudging brush from deviant art.
1. It is better to keep the sample colors before you 2. Apply the flat color for face.
begin.
3. Paint the shadows and then highlights. 4. Smudge them with smudge tool. If you are using
wet medium then use wet brush to smudge.
5. Now start the dress, make it flat. 6. Shadows…
7. Highlights… I have used light yellowish color 8. Smudge…
rather than light green, to create more interest.
9. Paint the hair 10. Shadows…
11. Highlights. This time smudge the shadows first 12. Draw blue color to the eyes
and rather than smudging highlights, just draw
lines.
13. Render the lips using the same process.
So that’s it….
Hope you enjoy this
tutorial and try it. See you
soon.
