Kill Team Arena: Escalation League

Core Rules:
Teams, Rosters, and Points Cost

Once a player chooses a faction, they must remain with that faction for the duration of
the league. Players will generate a roster of up to twenty models, which can and will change
from week to week at player’s discretion. Specialists and Fire Teams will level up like normal in
the campaign rules, except for Commanders. Commanders will follow the normal point buy
rules, and will be allowed (required!) in the latter parts of this league, but not in the first month
(Bronze). Points for each week are shown on the table below:

Bronze Points Silver Points Gold Points

No Commanders Commanders Optional Commanders Required

Wk1: 100 W5: 130 W9: 170

W2: 105 W6: 140 W10: 180
W3: 110 W7: 150 W11: 190
W4: 120 W8: 160 W12: 200
The league is divided into three four-week periods named Bronze, Silver, and Gold,
respectively. For the purposes of this league, each week begins on Monday when the store
opens and ends on Sunday after the store has closed.

League Structure and Entry Fees

Entry fee is $10 for the duration of the league: Bronze, Silver, and Gold, and includes a
set of dice, acrylic objective markers, Point Tracker, and Command Roster form while supplies
last. In between each four-week period will be a buffer week. This time will allow players to
update rosters and put finishing touches on models. New players can join the league during this
time as well. The store will use this buffer week to tabulate points, announce the winner, and
dispense prize support.

How To Win
Players will keep track of the victory points earned throughout the games they play and
add them together. You must play a minimum of one game per month, and a maximum of three
games per week. Players can only count games played against a new opponent. For example:
If you play three games against the same player, only the first of those games will count towards
your points. Additionally, if you have played your three games, but you opponent has not, the
points earned from that game won’t count for you, but will for your opponent. The player with the
highest amount of accrued victory points at the end of each month will be the winner. Victory
points will not carry over between months; when Silver begins, each player will start over from
zero. The same is true of the transition from Silver to Gold. Players cannot lose victory points
from playing games, only gain them.

Prize Support

● Bronze: Bronze medal and the Kill Team dice of the faction of their choice.
● .Silver: Silver medal and the Commander Expansion model for the faction of their choice.
● Gold: Gold medal and the Kill Team Faction Starter box of your choice.

In addition there will be a prize for Best Painted Kill Team. Rules and entry information for that
will be announced after the league has begun.
Tournaments
On the last Sunday of each four-week period before the buffer week begins, we will hold
a Kill Team: Arena tournament. Entry fee will be $5, registration at 1:30 pm with the event
beginning at 2pm.
Tournament goers will be expected to bring a roster of up to twenty models. At the beginning of
each round, players will have five minutes to review their opponent’s rosters, build their 100 pts
to combat what they expect their opponent to bring, and choose their Arena objectives. Each
round will last for forty-five minutes, at the end of which the player with the most victory points
wins. Tournament prize support will be 100% payout in store credit.

Experience from league games will not carry over into tournament games, and neither
will any victory points you earn in the tournament carry over to the league. Instead, each win or
loss will earn you two or one victory points, respectively. You may choose to add these points to
the end of the previous month's total, OR to start with that many extra in the next month. Playing
in the tournament does count as your one game per month, but does not count as any of your
three maximum games per week.
Mission Table and Environment Rules
Roll a d10 on the table below before the game to determine what mission is to be
played. Some missions aren’t available to play at the beginning of the league, but will be
unlocked as the league progresses. For games on non-Arena boards, players may choose any
three objectives from the matching mission on the table below. Additionally, you may substitute
any of these missions for any Matched Play mission from a supplemental box, such as Rogue
Trader or the various Faction Starter boxes. Primary objective victory points are capped at 9.
Remember to roll on the environment table for your games! They offer unique twists to
each mission and just might give you the edge you need. Adepticon 2019 missions can be
