Background Information:
The students are 5 years of age which is a great age for children to absorb the diversity in
languages. Studies show that the older you are the harder it is to absorb and learn a different
language then for a child who doesn't have a lot of knowledge in the language they
understand/ speak is easier for them to learn and absorb the new language that they are
learning. This lesson is a stepping stone to the development of the children's second language
learning. The students will be learning in a way that they will pay attention and have fun all at
the same time. The trick with being a great teacher is knowing what type of group of students
you will be teaching and figure what interest them and try to relate the academic portion and
interest of the students together to work as one .

 Students will be provided with blank copies of the 10 shapes, one copy per shape

of the color and shape back
 Teacher will go around to help any students if needed while allowing them to color their
shapes
 Teacher will have the students repeat the colors and shape after every shape and color
