Assignment Title: Q2: Anglo-Saxons Values

Student Writing Goal: Add more sentences to my paragraphs and details. Become a stronger writer by extending my
vocabulary and read more often. I would also like to score a 3 in language and vocabulary on my writing rubric.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?


The purpose of this writing assignment is to pull information from the book and type a three-paragraph essay
on the values of the Anglo-Saxons. And to further extend our knowledge on old English literature.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I did not perform as well as I wanted to, I failed to finish my third paragraph. I made some slight typing errors
that I did catch when revising my paper. Overall, I feel like I did pretty and met some expectations from the
writing rubric.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I feel like I did good setting up my claims and supporting them and backing them up with good quotes and
textual evidence. Going back and revising my work I think I did well on my corrections. I feel like I’m
getting better at review and looking over my work.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?


I have chosen to revise this writing assignment because I saw the affect it had on my grade it was to not fill
this out and turn it in. Another thing is living up to my word I said I would get my work done. Although I did
not finish it the day it was assigned, I am now going to stay on track and finish my work by the due date.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
For my next writing assignment one thing that I will do better is finish my final paragraph and have a good
conclusion. Also letting some of my peers reread my work and check for mistakes. Finding better vocabulary
words to replace some of the repeated words so it doesn’t sound and look like I just put it together and
doesn’t make sense.
To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I definitely went over my work carefully and checked for all the spelling errors. And replaced some words
with some more sophisticated and smarter words. I feel like I did more than enough to make it sound and
look better. There are some more things that I can improve in over time.
