INTRODUCTION
➤ A Go and N0-Go refers to an inspection tool used to check a workpiece
against its allowed tolerances. Its name is derived from two tests: the
check involves the workpiece having to pass one test (go) and fail the
    other (no-go).
➤ It is a quality checking process for manufacturing industries, it does not
tell you the size or accuracy of the product instead it gives a state where
is it is either acceptable or unacceptable.

PRINCIPLES
 OF GAUGE
    DESIGN
PRINCIPLE OF GAUGE DESIGN
➤ Basic principle
The design of limit gauges must be such that no rejected
components will be accepted but there is no problem is rejecting
the acceptable component.
➤ Taylor’s principles
According to Taylor’s principle the GO gauge should be made
for maximum material limit and it has to incorporate as many
dimensions as possible in one pass, the NO GO gauge can be
made for minimum material limit and separate NO GO gauge
should be made for each separate dimensions.
PROOF FOR TAYLOR’S PRINCIPLE
➤ As the principle suggests that GO gauge should check all the
dimensions in one pass and different NO GO gauges should be
made for different dimensions, lets contradict the statements and
    assume the opposite.
➤ Now we have more than one GO gauge for the checking of
dimensions and a NO GO gauge for same case.
➤ Due to this the whenever we check for the dimensional accuracy,
even the error components are accepted due to human errors,
therefore Taylor’s principle is valid for every gauge design..
➤ Therefore GO gauge should not only check the dimension but also
the unevenness and finishing, it should tell all these
    characteristics in one pass.
PROOF FOR TAYLOR’S PRINCIPLE
➤ NO GO gauge should check more than one dimensions within
tolerance limit and should not pass through the component.

➤ The threaded go/no go gauge standard used is M36.4-h6.
➤ Hole tolerance is 0.01561mm therefore the gauge tolerance is 10% of
    hole tolerance i.e. 0.0001561mm
➤ The diameter of the hole is 36mm and higher limit and lower limit of
the hole is +0.01561 and 0.000.
➤ Therefore the size of go/no-go gauges are 36.000/36.0001561 mm.
