Corruption and Power

Macbeth's ambition for power led him to commit corrupt acts, reflecting a theme that power tends to corrupt. When the witches prophesy that Macbeth will become king, his desire for power and throne grows. He kills King Duncan to gain the crown, showing how ambition can corrupt one's character. Similarly, politicians often struggle with temptation of power and prioritizing personal gain over others. Macbeth's story demonstrates how anyone can become corrupted by their ambition for power and status.

The Power Corrupts

The theme of power corrupts is relevant in Macbeth as well as modern society. In American

history, Richard Nixon's actions and his ambition of getting the power at all cost are reflected in

macbeth's ideas. In our society, politics and people with power are use to fight with the same struggle that

Macbeth whent through . At the beginning, the temptation of power begins to corrupt Macbeth early on

though. The witches told Macbeth that he would be more than just a thane. The witches’ prophecy

corrupts Macbeth because he wanted the power of the throne, but the only way that he could attain the

throne is through evil deeds.

To begin, leaders always use their power to get things done. Macbeth became corrupt through

power that he gains and does terrible things to gain authority and power. When the play starts, king

Duncan and his older son Malcom discussed about a "good and hardy soldier". Politicians from all walks

of life struggle with the same theme that Macbeth did. Macbeth came across the three witches who

prophecy Macbeth’s future and his mind and the change in his character. Every time the witches try to

disappear, Macbeth trys to fastly stop them so they can stay and tell more about his destiny. In our society

politics’ mind change when they are close to the power and they begin to think about personal benefits. In

conclusion, power can change anyone’s characteristics to get benefits and gain more.

Richard Nixon's actions and his ambition of getting the power at all cost are reflected in

macbeth's ideas. This type of people usually open a feeling in their minds that whatever decision they

make that directly conflicts the lives of others. The opening scenes showed that Macbeth was a powerful

and courageous man who was not naturally inclined to do wrong but he still decided to kill the king

thinking on his own benefits. Once Macbeth realized that he has the power, he became a person of
corruption and the ambition allowed him to become more involved in the thought of becoming powerful.

After king Duncan dies, Macbeth starts thinking about the witches' prophecy and he realises his destiny is

to be the king in scotlad. Macbeth starts believing everything the witches said but he is still afraid because

he doesn't want to give the crown to Banquo's decendents. In conclusion, a person’s ambition is a powerful

force that becomes corrupting influence on anybody.

In this world, most people think the most power you want to have, the more corruptions you have to

make. As we can see on Shakespear, Macbeth is corrupted by desiring all the power he could have over

others. He badly wants the power so he can do whatever he wants. In our society, we also see how politics

do anything they have to get power over others.

Macbeth’s ideas of corruption are reflected in our society. Macbeth was a ambitious Scottish who

was pushed to commit evil deeds for his desire of power and fortune after the three witches told his future

saying that he was the next king. In our society we are just waiting for any tempting reason so we can gain

something from it not caring about the people around us.
