Mr. Joel Naredo
Chairman
LBGTQ, Palayan City
Dear Mr. Naredo,
Last December 2, 2018 we received an open letter to the youth from + ROMULO
G. VALLES, D.D., Archbishop of Davao and the President of Catholic Bishops’
Conference of the Philippines announcing that we will be celebrating the year of the
youth.
The event with the theme “Filipino Youth in Mission: Beloved, Gifted,
Empowered” started December 2, 2018 the first Sunday of Advent, and will end on
November 24, 2019, the Feast of Christ the King. The celebration is part of the
nine-year “spiritual journey” to help prepare Filipino Catholics for 2021, the 500th
anniversary of the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines.
The Year of Youth invites the Church into prayerful discernment about the
importance and life-giving presence of young people in the local Church and
society. It calls for dialogue and active engagement focused on the reconnection and
renewal of a new generation of young people in the life of the Church.
In line with this, we are gratefully inviting your presence as well as the members of
your organization to participate in our official opening celebration that will happen
on December 16, 2018 (4:30am), on the first day of Simbang Gabi at Sta. Cecilia
Parish, Palayan City. We are also requesting five (5) representatives from your
group to participate on the Dance Animation and Presentation on said date. There
will be a 1-day rehearsal before the event which we will announce on the later part.
We are hoping for your positive feedback regarding this matter. You can reach us
through phone on the mobile number provided if you have further clarifications.
Fervently praying,
We are in Christ
