II. Subproject Description, Activities undertaken and Accomplishments

A. Objectives

The sub-project aims to address low agricultural productivity and low farmers
income by establishing 500 hectares cacao plantations.

B. Subproject Summary

Today, strengthen ARBOs started to plant cacao, about _____ hectares had been
planted already and vacant areas were utilized now as cacao farms. The increase
number of cacao farms means increase in agricultural productivity resulting to
increase in income.

C. Subproject Variations

A variation order was approved on __________________. Variation was made after the procurement
process since there was a remaining amount/ funds from the actual bid amount of the facilities, equipment
and trainings procured. Then the farmers requested that they need additional facilities and trainings.

There was a total of 3 technology trainings conducted and this were the following:

After the trainings the farmers gained knowledge


onsite selection, soil sampling, farm planning, land
preparation, field planting. Crop maintenance was
also learned specifically on shade maintenance,
cacao pruning, types of pruning, record keeping and
waste management.

After the training, each PO was able to know the
good agricultural practices in harvesting cacao.
Grading for dried and fermented cacao beans was
also given emphasis.

participants coming from the Lead PO which is the
United Highlanders Farmers Producers Cooperative
of Nati (UHFPCN). Part of the training process was
the exposure of this farmer participants to the local
cacao buyers in Makilala and Kidapawan.

Cacao Nursery Facilities

Particulars Details
Cacao Nursery Tools Polybag, Knapsack sprayer, shovel, hand trowel,
grass cutting hand tools, wheel barrow, pruning
shears, pruning saw and budding knife were made
available in each nursery sites managed by
respective participating ARBOs.
Cacao Clones seedlings, cacao seeds, Farm Inputs Cacao seeds and Highly recommended cacao (UF
for Nursery 18, BR 25, PBC 123) as a source of scion, organic
fertilizer and fungicide were provided to respective
ARBOs to support the nursery establishment
Nursery Shed Each PO were provide with nets and bamboo for
shed and fence of their nursery to protect the
propagated seedlings in the nursery.

Establishment of Processing Facilities and Equipment

Equipment/ Facilities Description


1. Grinding Machine One units of grinding machine were delivered on the
month _______ 2018 at Nati managed by UHFPCN.
The equipment had been field tested and found to
be operational and machine in good conditioned. To

had been installed in the processing center

moisture tester was also distributed to the lead PO.

Infra- Related

Post-harvest Facilities serves as processing center of caca products particularly tablea. The facility was
located within the 5 hectares rubber productive area in Nati. The processing center is being managed by
United Highlanders Farmers Producers Cooperative of Nati (UHFPCN) .
Financial Aspect

The total sub-project cost for rubber was Php 3,925,700 wherein Php 2,546,700 was provided by MinSaaD
(64.8%), Municipal Local Government Unit of Senator Ninoy Aquino counterpart was technical supervision
cost amounting to Php 500,000.00 (12.8%) and Php 879000 (22.4%) was the share of the ARBOs involve
