Cleaning your utensils in the kitchen is a tough yet required job that
everybody dreads to do. However, when easy ways to do the job are thought of,
everybody is grateful.
                       3 Time Saving Cleaning Hacks
The first hack is how to clean your oven throughout the night. To begin with,
you will need a baking dish, pot of water, dish soap, cleaning gloves, ammonia and
a sponge or scrubbing pad. Start by preheating your oven to 150 ℉. While you
wait for your oven to heat up, bring the pot of water to a boil on your stove. Once
your stove reaches 150 ℉, turn it off and pour one cop of ammonia into the baking
dish then place the dish on the top rack of the inside of your oven. Place the boiled
water on the bottom rack and close the door. In order for it to work, you will need
to leave them in the oven for several hours, which means overnight. The next
morning, remove both containers from the oven and the racks. Let the oven air
out for about 15 minutes. Now that the ammonia has done some work, put 1-2
teaspoons of dish soap to the ammonia with a quart of warm water. Next, put on
your cleaning gloves and bring out the scrubbing pad. Indulge the scrubbing pad
in the mixture and scrub your oven. Now, instead of a job that takes hours, you
can clean your oven without doing hardly any work!

Our next hack is how to make your baking sheets look like you just bought
them! First, make sure you get your requirements: baking soda, hydrogen
peroxide, and a dirty
baking sheet. All you 3 Time Saving Cleaning Hacks
have to do is sprinkle baking soda on the dirty area, spray a layer of hydrogen
peroxide on the baking soda and add a little bit more of baking soda on top. Now,
you wait. It depends on how big of a sheet you are trying to clean of how long you
wait. To be sure, I recommend about 2 hours. To finish, wipe the mix off and you
may have to scrub a little bit, but after that, your sheet looks good as new!
The third hack is how to clean your pots and pans, so they don’t look as bad
next to your cookie sheets. There is many different ways to clean burnt food off
pots and pans. One way is to use ketchup. Spread a thick layer over the burnt area
and let it sit overnight. The next day, all you have to do is rinse and maybe wipe it
down a little bit and it looks amazing. Another way is with Coca-Cola. First, fill
the pan with Coke and let it sit for a few hours until the food gets loose. Scrape
some the inside and wash the pan. Your pan is as clean as can be! One last way is
to use vinegar. Pour vinegar into the pan until the bottom is covered. Let it
simmer on the stove for a little bit. Then, scrub the burnt food off and it should
come off very easily. To substitute, you could use lemon juice, bottled or fresh.

              How To Turn Your Baking
                 Hobby Into Cash
Everybody loves making extra side money, especially from fun hobbies
like baking. Baking hobbies makes you the easiest money, if you’re good at it.
To begin with, first make sure your state allows you to sell home-baked goods.
After you get that cleared up, first all you have to do is spread the news. Tell
your friends, family, and ask them to spread the news farther on. Include
your clever business name, what you bake and your name. Then, make sure
you get it around social media. Make posts on Instagram, Facebook, and even
Pinterest. Now that you got your name around town, get your signature treat.
For example, your most tasty dessert, such as M&M cookies, fudge brownies
or red velvet cupcakes. Next, design and order business cards to pass out or
ask to place them on the front counters of a few businesses. After that, give
out samples! A few websites recommend dropping off samples at doctors
offices, schools or offices, but don’t forget to leave some cards. The last step is
to set reasonable prices. In order to get an idea of what to charge, drop by
local bakeries or supermarkets to determine the right price.

              breads and pastries. Tartine means

Having successful outcomes from baking usually gets you motivated to
bake more and get better at it. You want every cake to be moist, every brownie
to be chocolatey, and every donut to be toasty. However, not everyone has that
good of luck. First, in order to make sure your desserts are perfect, you need
to be sure that your oven’s temperature is accurate. If you are not positive on
how warm your oven is, a oven thermometer is the right way to go. You always
want to know if your oven is properly pre-heated and is heated to the right
temperature you want. Next, your pan should be prepared when you need it.
Most recipes require for your pans to be floured or greased, and those are
great instructions to follow. If your pan is not properly prepared, your dessert
will get affected. Following that, your ingredients are crucial. Even the littlest
slip up of extra cinnamon or a missing egg can change your entire dessert. To
add on top of that, make sure your ingredients are at the right temperature.
Cold butter is extremely hard to mix and egg temperatures could change the
consistency of your dessert. Follow these rules and you won't have to worry
about your dessert not turning out great ever again!

Being sweet is a compliment all
around, whether it’s about a person or
even food. But, when it comes to being too
sweet, it only applies to people, not treats.
One way to lighten up on the
sweetness is to ditch the cinnamon. Black
pepper is a great substitute for fruit pie or
Mak i n g cobbler. Cayenne compliments chocolate
amazingly, so add it to cookies, pudding or
ice cream. Chili flakes is a good

tolerated in small amounts, so add a pinch

Next, kick out the salted caramel.

Butter comes in all different shapes
Sweet and sizes, and can spice up your desserts.
Cultured brown butter gives a twist to
shortbread an pound cake. Fruity olive
oil, on the other hand, takes moist cake
             and gelato a step further.
Add crème fraîche on top of whipped
cream to give it the dreamiest taste, and
never go back to powdered sugar ever
again. Not only does crème fraîche make
your whipped cream one-of-a-kind, but so
does sour cream, greek yogurt, or labne.
One final sub is balsamic vinegar on
butterscotch. And, to top it all off, spike
your hot fudge with red wine, as long as
             you’re 21.

      Can Baking Make You
           Happier?
Baked treats are often considered comfort food for when your
in a bad mood or something doesn’t quite go the way you wanted.
However, are they so comforting that they can help lift depression?
One victim of depression claims that it does. John Whaite, the 2012
winner of The Great British Bake Off, was diagnosed with manic
depression in 2005. He claims that when he is in the kitchen,
measuring the ingredients and deciding what to make, he feels like
he can control it. John says that this was an amazing way to manage
his depressive symptoms. John also supports The Depressed Cake
Shop, a charity for mental health organized by specialist food
creative consultant Emma Thomas, who is also known by many
people as Miss Cakehead. The Depressed Cake Shop has been
hosting pop-up cake stalls around England and only sell grey cakes.

                A Baker’s Interview:
                    Rylie Ferguson
If you are a baker, you’ve made hundreds of treats, from
cupcakes to brownies. But there's one question that is almost
impossible to determine: what was the best dessert that you
have ever made? This not only determines the taste and
quality, but the appearance, process, and experience. I
decided to ask my friend Rylie Ferguson, 14, about her best
dessert she has ever made. Rylie is a frequent baker who has
won grand champion for cupcakes at the St. Clair County
Fair. “I recently made a oreo filled chocolate cake. The end
result was that it came out very moist and squishy. It was
actually very simple to make, since I used a recipe I found
online. I baked
a chocolate cake with
 oreo bits inside, and
then topped it with
 more oreos and fudge
topping. The end taste
was very rich and
chocolatey. It was for
sure the best dessert
I have ever baked.”

Dessert Polls
Choosing your favorite dessert is tough since all of them are so
delicious. Because of this, I asked 100 teens, just like me, to express
their favorite dessert type, topping, and cookie. Since the choices were
all so tasty and diverse, there was a variety of answers.
Brownies were the big winners for favorite dessert with a
whopping 31% of voters. Cookies came in second with 20% and cake
came third with 17%.
For the favorite cookies, oreos took home the victory with 24% of
voters. Close behind were no-bakes with 22%, then peanut butter with
20%. Macaroons didn't have such luck, however, only having 8%. This
was a tight race for first place, but it was a great variety of choices.
To end, favorite toppings wasn’t as tight as a race as favorite
cookies. Cherries took home the cake with 24% of voters, and a whole
7% behind was chocolate. Tied for 3rd was sprinkles and other. The
losing choice was caramel and fudge with only 9%, which was very
surprising since they are both very delicious.
