The document discusses the potential impact of using a website building tool like Weebly for teaching and learning. The presenter demonstrated how to create a website using Weebly, which impressed the author by allowing organized sharing of class materials like documents, videos, and notes online instead of just PowerPoints. This increases the accessibility of course materials for students to access anywhere, anytime. The author is excited by the opportunity to make their lessons more student-centered and incorporate technology to help students develop 21st century skills like collaboration and digital literacy.

Week 7-Final Class Tuesday 11th June 2019-

My thoughts on the potential impact that a web 2.0 tool such as Weebly may have on teaching
and learning.

Today is our final class and again the presenter had an amazing class lined up for us. She
employed the help of a weebly user/expert to show us how to create a website. Initially my
thoughts were that this looks too technical but once I saw the end product of it I was sold on its
use.

It really is a website that you build that can also be used in education amongst other areas to
get your message across to these students who are all digital natives and love the use of
technology. Instead of worrying about my PowerPoint, word documents including syllabus and
notes that centre on class topics or otherwise being unavailable to students I can now share
them together with you tube videos in an organized fashion. I simply love it!!!!!!!!!!

This I think will have a profound effect on the accessibility of reading material for a student as
anywhere, anytime information can be retrieved to review. This is keeping with today’s reality
that information is at our fingertips.

I am deeply saddened that our ICT has come to an end for my mind has been awakened and
fired to teach students from a pedagogical approach with the aim of my lessons being more
student-centered, understanding that my goal is to help students grasp the development of
knowledge as a process rather than a product incorporating technology as far as possible to aid
with this.

This new exposure and knowledge gained from this well-organized workshop will hopefully help
me to better teach students build"21st-century skills" developing certain core competencies
such as collaboration, digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving that will help
students thrive in today's world. It will also make teaching for me asier and more enjoyable as I
am better able to use and seek out technology!
