GUN-OB ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

MINUTES OF THE SECOND HOMEROOM PTA MEETING

Date: August 31, 2018


Time Started: 2:25 P.M
Time Ended: 3:45 P.M

Preparatory Activities: It started with a prayer led by Mrs. Virna Jane I. Raymundo.
Attendance: 100% of the class attended the meeting. Attached are the name and signature
of the parents/guardians.

AGENDA:

I. Attendance

 Parents were reminded that pupils should come to school on or before time.
 Discussion about pupil being absent was discussed. Absences should be avoided and if the
pupil is absent, an excuse letter with parent’s/guardian’s signature should be
provided/presented.

II. Reading

 Parents were informed as to where their pupil stand in terms of reading. Shown below are the
type of reading:
o FLUENT – able to read easily/smoothly/very well
o HALTER – able to read but hesitant on what he/she is reading
o WORD – will read word by word
o SYLLABIC – will read by syllables
o NON-READER – having hard time reading / can’t read
 Parents were advised to constantly let their children practice reading to improve reading
abilities.

III. NSO Birth Certificate

 Parents were reminded about the submission of their child’s authenticated birth certificate.
Deadline was supposed to be on August 31, 2018 but was extended to December 19, 2018.

IV. PROJECTS

 ESP & AP
o Pupils with their respected groups had presentations. Below are list of groups and the
type of presentation they showed:
 GROUP 1 – Singing
 GROUP 2 – Dancing
 GROUP 3 – Declamation
 GROUP 4 – Acting
 GROUP 5 – Drawing
 MTB
o Reading Chart (Consonant, Vowel, Consonant Sound CHART)
Every corner of the chart have pockets where cards were arranged by kinds
(consonant, vowels, word, picture)
 Center pockets are for the letters (consonant & vowels) to form words and
pockets to put the picture of the words formed.
o Gulayan sa Paaralan
 Planting different vegetables/green leafy vegetables.
 Parents were assigned and tasked to bring seeds or plants that can be
planted in the garden.
 MAPEH
o Roulette
 Healthy and Unhealthy food roulette
 Consist of pictures of different foods where pupil can move the hands of
the roulette to determine if it’s a healthy food (✓) or unhealthy food (X).

V. Scouting Girls and Boys

 Parents were encouraged to let their child join the boy/girl scout where the denomination will
be held inside the school premises.
 Waivers are distributed to parents/guardians.
 Benefits for joining such as insurance and leadership training were discussed.
 Registration Fee of ₱50.00 were collected to those who will be joining the activity.

VI. UNO

 Pupils were encouraged to join and celebrate the unity of nations by representing European
Countries with their national costumes.
 Registration fee of ₱100.00 was collected to pupil who joined the activity.

VII. Classroom Based Recognition (First Grading)

 Pupils with honors or special awards were recognized and given certificates.
 Report cards were released after the recognition.
