Campaign Information
Several issues have been reported regarding the malfunction of the trim sender and/or inaccuracy of
trim gauge readings on the recently released SX-A and DPS-A sterndrives.
The potential issues that may be encountered relating to the trim sender/gauge together with the cor-
rective actions required are listed below.
Trim Sender (3841840)
Issue: Delay of trim gauge movement or no movement when drive is trimmed and/or trim gauge
exhibits erratic motion.
Solution: Check serial number tag on trim sender cable. If less than 6000 replace trim sender
#3841840 with a service replacement that has a serial number greater than 6000. (Order new
trim sender from Volvo Parts).
Faria Brand Trim Gauges
Issue: Certain Faria brand trim gauges do not read full down when drive is full down and the trim
sender resistance is set to Volvo Penta specification of 11+/- 2 ohms.
Solution: Replace with new gauge that has a manufacturing date after 11/01/06. (Order new
gauge from Faria as instructed below).

For Faria Trim Gauge Replacement submit Warranty claim as instructed below:
North America: Call Faria Customer Service @ 1-800-473-2742 for replacement gauge with a manufac-
turing date after November 1, 2006.
Rest of World: Contact boat dealer for warranty replacement gauge with a manufacturing date after No-
vember 1, 2006
