Re: Plans for English 2100
Enclosed is a detailed description of technical writing and how it can be applied to
writing. While also detailing Ashley’s plans for successfully completing English 2100.
Technical writing not only used in science and business fields. Can be utilized in most
professional careers. It refers to a type of writing not commonly used among individuals,
but in areas that involve expertise or specialty in that field. Basically, writing about a
topic you are knowledgeable is considered technical communication. The audience is
an influence for writing, it should be formatted to their level of understanding. The
textbook states, “We are challenged to write about technical subjects but in a way that a
beginner could understand.” As an educated individual we are expected to write in a
way that is understood by most people uneducated in our field. Without lowering it to
such a level that our credibility is questioned.
In this class I hope to be able to write and study research papers for my field. Going into
a researched and heavily specialized field I hope to understand what is written. While
being able to write at that level in return. By taking this class I am bettering my chance
of success in my future careers. To accomplish this, I will turn in assignments on time,
giving myself time to plan and write accordingly. Focusing more time than previously
expected, I can understand what is expected of me.
