Damiao de Gois Museum

An old Portuguese church that had historical significance to philosopher Damião de Gois, where he was baptised and later buried, was selected as the permanent location for an exhibition space celebrating his life and accomplishments. Lighting was integrated into the church's arches to illuminate displays inside a series of black tunnels with curved walls showcasing artifacts, images, and information about De Gois through the 175 square meter space.

An old Portuguese church was chose as a venue for permanent exhibition to to celebrate the life and legacy of

philosopher and scholar Damião de Gois because of its historical relationship with De Gois, who was baptised and later
buried at the church in the 16th century.

THE CONCEPT WAS TO CREATE SOME KIND OF TIME CAPSULE WHERE THE VISITOR CAN GET IN TOUCH WITH THE
HISTORY OF DAMIÃO DE GOISAND CREATING A CONTRAST BETWEEN OLD AND NEW
