DEPARTMENTAL PROCEDURES FOR CWP


1. Purpose: To describe the procedure for Maintenance of Circulating
Water
Pumps and Chlorination Plant.
2. Scope: Maintaining the equipments - viz. Circulating Water Pumps,
Valves
connected to the system, Chlorination plants & EOT Cranes and
Indenting of spares required for the above.
3. Responsibility: CM of the Division
4. Input: Spares like Impellers, Shafts, Sleeves, Bearings, Gland packings,
Oil ,Gear, Brakes.
5. Output: Generation loss due to Circulating Water Pumps and
Chlorination Plant is negligible due to the non-availability of these
Equipments.
6. Procedure:
The Maintenance works were categorized as prescribed by the OEM
given in their Manual under the following sub heads.
1. Preventive Maintenance – Eg. Lubrications Renewal, Bearings
checking
2. Corrective Maintenance – Eg. Alignment checks, Brg. clearance,
Arresting leaks.
3. Break Down Maintenance
4. Scheduled Overhaul
The works segregated under the above categories are being carried
out following the detailed scope of work enclosed for each work.
7. List of Equipments:
Circulating Water Pumps, Valves connected to the system, Chlorination
plants & EOT Cranes

9. Corrective Action:
HOD/ACM shall ensure implementation of above procedure through
periodic interaction with respective engineers / operators and review
