Aim: SWBAT tell what it means to show Love.  


SWBAT tell how they show love in their daily lives.  

Frame : KIPPsters today we are going to learn about the value of showing Love. 
When we show love we make sure that we listen to others’ needs and try to find a 
solution to our problems.  
 
Let’s reflect for a minute:  
Have you ever been very sad and someone helped you feel better? 
What did that person do to help you feel better? 
● Think, pair, share 
● Share with your neighbor 
● Take a couple of hands.  
It sounds like the people who helped you feel better really listened to what you 
were feeling in the moment.  
 
If we want to show love to others we have to follow three important steps: 
1. Listen to each other carefully 
2. Respond in a way that shows that we are listening 
3. Try to solve the problem in a positive way. 
When we follow these steps we make sure that our friend knows that we value 
what they have to say.  
 
This can be hard sometimes. However, if we try our hardest to show Love, we will 
learn a lot about the world and be able to make great contributions.  
 

Video and Discussion:  


KIPPsters today we are going to watch a video about Mojo and KT. Both of the 
friendly monsters are very excited about a school play, but Mojo forgets to show 
Love to his friends. As we watch the video let’s think about how Mojo and KT are 
feeling. Let’s try to find out if KT and Mojo do or do not show each other love.  
 
Bring class back together for discussion: 
● Why do you think Mojo forgot to show his friends Love? 
● What caused Mojo to feel nervous? 
● What are some things that KT could have done to let Mojo know how he felt. 
● How did Mojo and KT find a solution.  
● If you were KT, what would you have said to Mojo to let him know that you 
want to help? 

Exit Ticket/ Closing: Thank you for your engagement today KIPPsters. Today we 
learned that showing Love is a lot more that just being nice to your friends. 
Showing Love means that listening to others with understanding and empathy. You 
try to understand others in order to help make the world better.  
 
For your exit ticket, you are going to complete scenario cards. Each card tells you 
something that is happening to a friend. You will write one sentence explaining how 
you would show love to that friend. Make sure to write your name on the back. 
Write one sentence and draw a picture to show what you would do. When you are 
finished, pass your cards to the table monitor.
