ATTRIBUTES OF PERSONALITY

This paper conveys about the attributes of personality in different aspects of

development and how these developments contributes to someone’s personality growth
for professionalism.

Physical Development

According to Eunisse De Leon, everyone wants the better version of their selves,
one of the ways to improve yourself is upgrading the professional aspect of your life.
There are eight tips to create a better version of yourself.

(1) Set a fixed waking up and sleeping time. Set up your body clock, it should
have specific wake up and sleeping time to maximize time and start and end tasks on
time. (2) Enhance communication skills. As a professional, your career progresses and
you will come across different people other than your team. You might be invited to speak
in front of huge audience, come prepared and learn how to speak confidently. (3) Listen
to your mentor. Books don't give you all the information that you need to learn; best
learning come from experience. Have talks with your colleagues who are more
experienced, hear stories, treat them as your mentor, and use the learning in your
professional life. (4) Upgrade your skills. Learning is continues; never stop learning.
Even if you are great at what you do, always look for ways on how to improve your skills.
Become an expert in your profession, not just someone that's good at it. (5 ) Learn
something new. Learning doesn't stop when you already mastered something. You
never know what will happen next, come prepared, avoid cramming and learn something
today that's out of your league. (6) Create a list of your accomplishments and goals.
In two pieces of paper, jot down your accomplishments and goals, and place it beside
each other. The accomplishments will serve as a motivation that you can attain your goal.
Post it where you can see it every day. (7) Pick up a new habit. Being sick of bad and
old habit, you can pick up new habits that could be helpful to you. If you are always late
and dependent on your co-worker, then stop. Instead, before work, eat breakfast and
come on time. (8) Keep ideas flowing through a journal. Always keep a journal with

you so whenever ideas pops out in your head, you can write it down and immortalize it to
keep your thoughts flowing. Bigger ideas comes in random moments, anything you see
outside can be an idea and can be applied to new projects. We must know that in
improving life, developing professional aspect is one step closer.

Motor Development.

Motor Development is the progression of muscle coordination for particular

physical activities. This occurs in an orderly sequence as infants move from reflexive
actions to more advanced motor functioning. Motor skill is our ability to move our body
and manipulate objects. First is our fine motor skill that is the muscles in our fingers, toes,
and eyes, and enable coordination of small actions. And then our gross motor skills that
focus on large muscle groups that control our arms and legs and also involve larger
movements. With our growth, maturation, and differentiation, our muscles become
stronger and function more smoothly, and our motor responses become better organized.
The development of motor coordination can be seen first in simple reflexes, appears to
depend on the interactions of muscular response to stimulation, growth and increasing
strength of muscles, and the development of coordination through practice.

Intellectual Development

According to Encyclopedia (2016), Intellectual development refers to the changes

to someone’s thinking, reasoning, judging, relating, and conceptualizing from their
experiences. According to Psychology, in any analysis of psychological phenomena,
personality and intelligence were considered to be the most vital and popular notion, even
in scientific literature. However, even they both extend useful ways on how to determine
individual differences; they are not answering same questions. Personality focuses on
the “content” questions which depicts the thoughts, perception and beliefs of a person,
while intellectual focuses on the “effectiveness” questions which attempts to determine
how a person can perform in a field with such manner and respect to the defined standard.

The connection between the intellectual development and personality is adopted
due to the considerable interest whether if someone’s personality may impede someone’s
intellectual capacity. One of the medium used to describe the relationship of intellectual
(ability) and personality of a person is the Psychometric Approaches to Personality and
Intelligence; this conveys that it is not yet proven to describe the relationship of someone’s
intelligence and personality by just generalizing their traits and ability. According to
Tracey, J.B., etc. (2010), in the case of role of intellectual development in the
improvement of personality for the field of professionalism, intellectual ability is required
to perform technical responsibilities and attitudes is necessary for the successful
performance and with less conflict encounters. This only proved that if a certain person
has known the ability to react with respect in any circumstances, his personality grows.

Emotional Development

The personality of an individual does not develop once you have been birth by your
mother. Sometimes, your past experiences can help you how to develop your own
personality, specifically your emotional personality. According to the research of
Dienstbier, Hillman, Lehnhoff& et al. (1975), they stated there that most of the normal
children will experience some emotional provocation following the transgression and
detection by disapproving adult. Emotional attribution is very important even you were a
child; Children might bring up to their adulating stage those emotional provocations.
However, there are two possibilities how the child will deal with those transgression or
wrongdoings. In their research, they imparted the children an internal (due to own
behavior) or an external (due to confrontation) causal attribution that causing the source
of emotional arousal or provocation. They hypothesized that the children who believed
they ‘felt bad’ from their past transgression (internal) would misbehave far less than the
children who have been detected (external). If their transgression or wrongdoings have
been detected first by others, it might result to their embarrassment and might cause to
confrontation. That is why the external orientation last longer than the internal orientation,
because if he had an internal orientation, they will feel guilty and there is a possibility that
he can correct it without any causing a confrontation.

Social Development

Based on the article called “Economic and Social Inclusion Corporation” Social
development is about improving of the individual through full potential. Based on this
article I have read, Social development is how you handle people by means of
communicating and building relationship with them. Social development is also a way to
invest in people so that it can reduce poverty.

According to Amy Morin, by improving the social aspects of personality in relation

to the professional life of the person are to practice small if necessary. It means that you
first practice it by making a small conversation to other people. It can be family, friends
and strangers. One of them is also behave like a social person. By starting conversation
to others, you need to act like a normal human being. So that other person may recognize
you as an approachable person. By practicing these steps may improve your social
aspects.

Social development also has differences when it comes to personality of human

beings. According to the article called “Urban Child” In the early years of children’s
experiences, affects their brain work. Whatever they hear or what they respond to. Their
ability is depends on the relationship of parents. Social development also includes many
areas of growth. One of them is called “Temperament”. The way of a person to handle
the situation next is “Attachment” It is the relationship of a person to one another. Last is
“Emotion regulation” the ability of controlling the emotion.

Why Social development is important? Based on my opinion, developing your social skills
will determine your success in future in terms of communicating with one another. It is a
way to convey your ideas to other people that you want to work with. It will help you to
improve your social skills by communicating with other people and keeping it up to
improve your communication skills. There is also an article called “Boot Room” that says
Social development is important because, it helps you to make connection and friends in
order to survive the environment. It is also a way of dealing with disagreement and the

ability to interact successfully with others. Social development importance is very crucial
in your life because, it can affect your relationship with other person.

In my conclusion, I’ve learned that social development plays a very crucial role in
life. It affects your relationship with other person and building connections. It also a way
of your life to becomes a successful person in future. Improving social skills is very
important to make connections to others and make your life more reasonable to
communicate with other person. So you need to communicate to be comprehended. So
in order to make a social development, you need to improve your social skills and make
connections to other people.

Moral and Spiritual Development

When we say moral, it is about giving value for good deeds than bad. Developing
morality takes time for an individual to mature. We build our own principle that becomes
our basis to maintain good living and social standards. This idea are supported by an
article entitled "Piaget's (1932) Theory of Moral Development" by Lawrence Kohlberg
(1958).

Developing spiritual attribute is the hardest stage because it is the deepest part
among the six stages of personal development. We do not know how the world works
from the start because we are innocent. As we grow, we develop the feel of fear because
we are able to realize how the world works. Common people stay on this stage of
development because they may not be able to overcome the difficulties in their life. Only
few people are able to overcome challenges and are considered to be rare. Further
development may lead us to experience the true self. However, it is very difficult to
achieve. This idea are supported by an article entitled "The 7 Stages of Spiritual
Development" by Roger Gabriel (2019) from a blog post of chopra.com
