3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
Purple liquid, mild odour.
May cause sensitisation by inhalation and skin contact.
This product does not contain a known cancer-causing chemical.
Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.
The most likely health effect would be irritation of the skin, eyes, nose, throat and upper respiratory
system. Oil mist is associated with an inflammation deeper in the lungs, technically referred to as pneumonitis or chemical pneumonia.
Cobalt compounds may cause sensitization (skin allergies). Effects on the kidneys and thyroid have been reported. Manganese
compounds may affect the nervous system. If exposures are maintained at or below the Threshold Limit Values, these symptoms or
effects should not occur.

4. FIRST-AID MEASURES
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. Seek medical advice immediately.
Ingestion: If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious or
convulsing person. Have victim rinse mouth with water, then give water to drink. Do not induce vomiting.
Skin contact: In case of contact with skin, immediately remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash with mild soap and
plenty of water. Seek medical advice immediately. Launder clothing before re-use.
Eye contact: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Check the
victim for contact lenses and remove if present.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
SAFETY DATA SHEET
Product name: SPEEDYDRY Page 2 of 5
Preparation Date: April 21, 2009
Suitable extinguishing media: To fight fires use carbon dioxide, chemical foam, dry powder or water fog.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water should only be used with caution or to cool fire-exposed containers. Do not use a
solid stream of water, as this may cause frothing or spreading of burning material.
Unusual fire and explosion hazards: Closed containers may rupture when exposed to heat and flame, due to a build-up of
internal pressure. Vapours are heavier than air and will collect in confined and low-lying areas. Fire may result in toxic
and irritating fumes. The following may develop in the event of a fire: carbon oxides, cobalt oxides, manganese oxides.
Protective equipment for fire-fighters: Wear proper chemically resistant protective equipment and self-contained breathing
apparatus operated in positive pressure mode. Fight fire from a safe distance.
Special fire fighting procedures: Move container from fire area if it can be done without risk. Use water spray to keep fire
exposed containers cool. Keep run-off water out of sewers and water sources. Dike for water control.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions: All persons dealing with clean-up should wear the appropriate chemically protective equipment. Keep
unprotected personnel upwind and away from the spill / release. Refer to point 8 on this Safety Data Sheet, EXPOSURE
CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION, for additional information on acceptable personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions: Ensure spilled product does not enter drains, sewers, waterways and soil.
Methods for cleanup: Wear necessary chemically protective equipment, such as gloves, goggles and suitable protective
clothing. Ventilate area of release. Stop leak if possible without risk. Absorb spill with inert, non-combustible
material such as sand, then place into suitable, labelled containers. Do not use combustible materials such as saw
dust. Wash thoroughly after dealing with a spillage. Notify appropriate local authorities, if required.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Safe handling procedures: For professional use only. This material does not contain a known carcinogen. Pregnant
workers or workers who have recently given birth should be avoid working with this product. Persons with asthmatic-
type conditions, chronic bronchitis, other chronic respiratory diseases or recurrent skin eczema or sensitization should
be excluded from working with this product. Always wear protective equipment during handling. Use in a well
ventilated area. Avoid inhaling vapours or mists. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Keep away from extreme
heat and flame. Keep away from incompatible materials. Wash thoroughly after handling material.
Storage requirements: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Store away from incompatibles. Protect from damage.
Inspect periodically for damage or leaks. Keep out of the reach of children.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Engineering measures: Use in well ventilated area. Observe Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL’s) and minimize the risk of
inhalation of vapours or mists. Use mechanical or local exhaust ventilation.
Respiratory protection: Exposure should be avoided\controlled by ventilation. Where exposure is likely to be prolonged
or is unknown wear approved respiratory protection. Confirmation of which type of respirator is most suitable for
the intended application should be obtained from respiratory protection suppliers.
Hand protection: Use chemically protective gloves. Protective gloves should be inspected for wear before use and replaced
regularly in accordance with the manufacturers specifications. Confirmation of which type of material is most
suitable for the intended application should be obtained from glove suppliers.
Eye protection: Wear chemical safety glasses with side shields. If splashes are possible, use chemical splash goggles, to
prevent any liquids or mists from entering the eyes.
Other protection: Wear chemically protective apron, sleeves and other clothing to prevent skin contact. An eyewash station
and safety shower should be made available in the immediate working area.
Hygiene measures: Do not inhale vapours or mists. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Do not eat, drink, smoke or
use cosmetics while working with this product. Thoroughly wash at the end of each work shift. Immediately remove any
clothing that becomes contaminated and launder before re-use.
