The Realization of Life
"Sometimes, you get tired of fighting. I think you just sort of come to this realization that
yes, that you will get tired, but that doesn't mean that you can give up the fight." Life is full of
surprises. One dat we experience new things and some days we realize what life really is. Life
may be tough as we think, but the tougher it gets the more things we learn and have the
chance to be better individuals for the future.
When life started, I never thought that it would be hard. I grew up in an environment full
of optimism which helped me see the good things in life. Things went well during my early
childhood years and it gave me the assumption of what life would be. By the time I reached
high school , life started to turn upside-down. It was different than I thought it would be. I got
suspended during my first year of high school life; my grades started to decrease and worst,
opportunities began to close doors for me. I was discouraged and tired of living up to the
expectation of others. It tempted me to believe that God was already leaving me. I became a
mess and a burden to my family, friends, and everyone around me. I made wrong decisions that
led me to my so called "downfall". Worst, instead of asking God for help, I turned my back on
him. School, love, music career, responsibilities, name them; they gave up on me because I gave
up on them. Thanks to my constant supporters - my family who didn't give up on me. I realized
that what happened was was part of who I will be.
Looking back, I perceived those events as blessings. Without those hardships, those times
when I was down, I wouldn't realize that life gives me what I deserve and that I am nothing
without the Lord; that life happens for a reason; that life is about facing the challenges, learning
from them, and changing for the better. The moment I grasped the true essence of life was the
moment I realized that the Lord has great plans for you and me. Life is beautiful but not always
easy; it has problems, too, and the challenge lies in facing them with courage, letting the beauty
of life act like a balm, which makes the pain bearable, during trying times, by providing hope.
No doubt, life is beautiful and every moment - a celebration of being alive, but one should be
always ready to face adversity and challenges. A person who has not encountered difficulties in
life can never achieve success. Thus, life is and should not be just a bed of roses; thorns are also
part of it and should be accepted by us just as we accept and realize the beautiful side of it.
