Nursing Allowance

1. The President has sanctioned the revision of existing nursing allowance rates for all nursing personnel working in central government/UT hospitals and centrally funded autonomous bodies. 2. The revised rates as per the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations increase the nursing allowance from Rs. 4,800 per month to Rs. 7,200 per month. 3. The revised rates will be effective from July 1, 2017 and will increase by 25% whenever dearness allowance increases by 50%. Nursing allowance will be paid to all nurses regardless of whether they work in dispensaries or hospitals.

Consequent upon the decision taken by the Government of lndia on the


recommendations ol the 7lh Pay Commission, the President is pleased to sanction the
revision of existing rate of Nursing allowance to the Nursing Persoffrel ol aI categories
at all levels working in Central Govemment/ UT Hospita.ls/ Institutions and
Centrally tunded autonomous Bodies like AIMS, New Delhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh,
JPMER, Pondicherry etc., subject to the following conditiona artd as per the detajls

[b) The additional expenditure due to enhancement of Nursing Allowance would be


met by the respective institutions from their sanctioned budget.

2. 'Ihe revised rates of Nursing Allowarce shall be admissible wit]l ellect ftom the
1.r of July, 2017. The rates of Nursing Allowance will go up by 25olo each time
the Deamess Allowance payable on revisea pay scale risis by SOZ".

3. Nursing Allowance witl be payable to all Nurses whether working in


Dispensa-ries or in Hospitals.
