NOTIFICATION

In suppression of Notifications No. UOG/ REG/ DAC/ AP-FALL/ 19/ 1728 &
UOG/REG/DAC/AP-FALL/19/1750 dated 08.07.2019 & 10.07.2019 respectively
and in exercise of the powers vested under section 14(1) of University of Gujrat Act
IX of 2004, the Competent Authority is pleased to approve the following Admission
Policy and Admission Calendar for all Undergraduate, Graduate and Post-Graduate
Degree Programs for Admissions in Fall-2019.

1) GENERAL ADMISSION POLICY:


1.1 University of Gujrat (UOG) online admissions shall accomplish against the
advertisement in print and electronic media under semester system unless
mentioned.
1.2 Only online application shall be accepted and No hard copy of the form/ and
credentials shall be required. However, all responsibilities of the provided data
in the application shall rest upon the applicant. In case of any discrepancy,
the admission shall be cancelled at any stage of the degree
1.3 The submitted application(s) shall be acknowledged by the text message on
the applicant’s given cell number. Degree wise electronic list of all applicants
shall be displayed on UOG admission portal (https:/uog.edu.pk) after the
closing date of the admission. The missing candidates (if any) may contact,
Director IT Services, UOG (admission2019@uog.edu.pk) before the date of
merit list. Otherwise, the claim shall not be entertained after the display of
Merit Lists.
1.4 The University shall establish Admission Facilitation Centers (AFC) at the
following venues, equipped with IT services, for the guidance of the desiring
applicants;

1.5 List of selected candidates shall be displayed on the respective departmental
notice board and UOG admission portal (https:/uog.edu.pk) as per admission
calendar.
1.6 An applicant can file the admission grievance(s) (if any) in writing along with
all required documents to the office of the respective Faculty Dean for
redressal.
1.7 All the selected candidate mentioned in any merit list shall present all the
credentials in original for verification to respective Departmental Sub-
Admission Committee (DSAC). Verified applicants shall submit two sets of
attested copies of all certificates/degrees and four recent passport size
photographs (with blue background). Departmental Sub-Admission
Committee (DSAC) shall issue challan form for the deposit of 1st-semester
dues/Fee.
1.8 The admission dues/fee shall be deposited during the stipulated period in the
designated branches of banks at Hafiz Hayat Campus, University of Gujrat.
The referred dues/fee shall not be deposited in any other branch.
1.9 The undergraduate degree programs shall be offered on the basis of relevant
first (1st) year examinations of Intermediate or equivalent, BA, BSc or
equivalent or first two-year results of Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE)
duly recognized by Pakistan Board of Technical Education (PBTE). Further
details are given in section 2.1.
1.10 For MS/MPhil & PhD, all the selected candidates mentioned in any merit list
shall present all the credentials in original for verification to respective
Departmental Review and Research Committee (DRRC) along with valid
notification of 2 years and 3 Years study leave for MPhil/MS & PhD programs
respectively (For UOG desirous employees NOC and study leave will be
required at the time of registration in the program).
1.11 For MS/MPhil & PhD, verified applicants shall submit two sets of attested
copies of all certificates/degrees and four recent passport size photographs
(with blue background). The Convener of DRRC shall issue challan form for
the deposit of 1st-semester dues/Fee.
1.12 The graduate and postgraduate degree programs shall be offered on the basis of
complete terminal degree. Further details are given in following sections.
1.13 There will be no reserved seat(s) for graduate and postgraduate degree programs.
1.14 Considering resources, the minimum required number of seats to initiate
degree program(s) shall be decided by the notified committee.
1.15 The reserved seat(s) mentioned in section 2.2 are included in the total
number of seats. The detailed admission eligibility criteria are given in
sections 2.2.
1.16 The Campus/Faculty wise number of seats for various Undergraduate degree
programs are mentioned section 1.21; however, in special circumstances (not
to be mentioned) University reserves the rights not to offer degree program(s).
In such cases, the deposited fee/dues shall be refunded as per UOG policy.

1.17 Considering resources, the minimum required number of seats to initiate
degree program(s) shall be decided by the notified committee.
1.18 A candidate can mark his/her preference for admission for more than one-
degree programs within a Faculty; however, for other Faculty a separate
admission form shall be submitted.
1.19 A candidate shall have to pay @ Rs 850/= as admission processing fee,
whereas Rs 250/= shall be charged for each extra degree program of the same
faculty within the stipulated time as mentioned in the admission
advertisement/calendar. A separate admission application/processing fee
shall be submitted by candidate(s), if they are desirous to apply in programs
of different faculties.
1.20 Subject to the availability of seat/merit and prior to the submission of
application in more than one discipline(s), a candidate shall be allowed
changing major discipline within the stipulated time.
1.21 In case of “O”, “A” level education in Pakistan or abroad a Marks Equivalence
Certificate (MEC) from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC),
Islamabad, Pakistan or Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad,
Pakistan shall be required respectively.
1.22 In case of any other relevant equivalent degree, the Equivalence Certificate
from HEC shall be required.
1.23 The required calculation of percentage from CGPA for other than UOG
candidates (if any), UOG, CGPA conversion formula shall be followed.
1.24 As per Government of Punjab age relaxation Policy, the Competent Authority,
UOG has already relaxed the upper age limits of applicants as per following
detail.

1.25 For graduate and post graduate degree programs there is no upper age limit
of applicants.

2) UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS

2.1) Basic Criteria to apply for Undergraduate Degree Programs Including:

a. Subject to the verification of the minimum required criteria and relevance
of the subject by the Departmental Sub-Admission Committee (DSAC),
the provisional admission shall be awarded on the Merit of the First (1st)
Year examination of Intermediate or equivalent or the First Two Years’
accumulative results of DAE or equivalent marks obtained; however, the
fulfillment of relevant minimum criteria shall be required to apply for
admission.
b. In this regard, the candidate shall have to submit an affidavit (already
given in the online admission application form) confirming that he/she
shall meet all the required respective minimum criteria with at least 45%
required marks (otherwise; unless mentioned) in the 2nd / Final Year of
the relevant annual examinations; otherwise, the provisional admission
shall stand cancelled.

2.2) Basic Criteria to Apply for Undergraduate Degree Programs: MA/MSc/BBA (02

of the subject by the Departmental Sub-Admission Committee (DSAC),
the provisional admission shall be awarded on the Merit of BA/BSc/B
Com (third semester or third year results) or equivalent marks obtained;
however, at least 45% marks to apply for admission to all Undergraduate
degree programs MA/MSc/ BBA (02 years/04 semesters) and MCom
(after 14 years of education) shall be required.
b) In this regard, the candidate shall have to submit an affidavit (already
given in the online admission application form) confirming that he/she
shall meet all required respective minimum criteria with at least 45%
required marks in the final year / 4th Semester; otherwise, the
provisional admission shall stand cancelled.

3) GRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS MS/MPhil and PhD
a. In-service candidates shall provide valid NOC.
b. The DRRC shall ascertain the eligibility of the candidates by scrutinizing the
admission form. The list of shortlisted candidates shall be displayed on
departmental notice board and UOG website after getting approval from the Vice
Chancellor through ASRB.
c. The short listed candidates shall be invited for the Graduate Subject Based
Written Test (GSBWT) by the Chairperson/HOD. The GSBWT shall be checked
by DRRC. The interviews shall be conducted by the DRRC with intimation to the
Director ASRB.
d. The number of members to constitute the quorum for a meeting of the DRRC
shall be four.
e. The pre-requisites and other requirements (if any) for admission in this category

4) ADMISSION POLICY FOR RESERVED SEATS IN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE


PROGRAMS (EXCEPTIONS / CONDITIONS ARE MENTIONED WITH EVERY
CATEGORY)

a) The merit of the reserved seats shall be determined within the category;
however, the applicant has to fulfill the general admission/minimum required
eligibility criteria to apply for.
b) A candidate can apply against both reserved and merit seats; however, separate
application forms shall be filled
c) The number of reserved seats is included in total allocated seats; however,
unfilled reserved seat (if any) shall be dealt under open merit.
d) In case more than required nominations against a particular degree program
are received, UOG shall reserve the rights to prepare the merit list within the
same category as per UOG policy.
e) The nomination against a category shall not change, unless approved by the
relevant nominated authority.
