definitions and objectives, followed by the steps in conducting the analysis, and finally facilitated the
workshop, whereby, the group were given worksheets to accomplish. This was religiously performed by the
eager and active participants. Instr. Palma was always on the rescue of members who were lost along the
way, be it in the forgotten formula or “misinterpretation” of the result. The output was then presented to the
group for critiquing. Clarifications were raised, queries answered, suggestions noted, opinions laid, reactions
counter-reacted, sentiments catered, and from the looks of it, generally, the enthusiasm to learn and the
appreciation of the newly acquired knowledge dominate the humid air of the cramped function room. The
morning session ended with a collective agreement that item analysis is an effective tool towards the
standardization of classroom examinations. A certificate of recognition was awarded to Mr. Palma by Dr.
Tessie Ortizo, Campus Administrator of Dingle Campus and assisted by Dr. Sobrevega and Dr. Garrido,
Chairs of Academics of Dingle and San Enrique Campus respectively. A token of appreciation was also given
to Mr. Palma.
Lunch included a cup of rice, a piece of fried chicken, a slice of fish, and a bottle of water.
The afternoon session started with announcements from the Office of Vice President for Academic
Affairs regarding the upcoming seminars and educational concerns. She then proceeded with the introduction
of the next resource speaker.
Ms. Mariana M. Bata is the general manager of the Government Service Insurance System GSIS
and her talk covered awareness on GSIS Financial and Loan Package (GFAL) which generally aims to
increase the financial capacity of the members. She discussed the objective and benefits of the program as
well as the process of application and qualifications of the applicants. A video was presented to strengthen
her claims. The speaker appealed to the group to help her reach the quota of 6000 GFAL

for the valuable information Ms. Bata shared with the participants. A certificate of recognition was awarded
to Ms. Bata and a token of appreciation was also given.
