STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Specifically, this study aimed to answer the following
questions:
1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of the following
Variables
a. Sex
b. Highest Educational Attainment of Parents
c. Average Family Monthly Income
2. What is the extent to which learning styles in mathematics
are used by the students in terms of the following areas:
a. Environmental?
b. Emotional?
c. Sociological?
d. Psychological?
3. What is the extent to which learning styles in mathematics
are used by the students when they are grouped according to the
aforementioned variables?
4. Is there a significant difference in the extent to which learning
styles in mathematics are used by the students when grouped and
compared according to aforementioned variables?
5. Is there a significant difference in the level of academic
Performance in mathematics of the students when grouped and
compared according aforementioned variables?
6. Is there a significant relationship between the extent of learning
styles and level of academic performance?
HYPOTHESES OF THE STUDY
The hypotheses set forth in view of the aforementioned specific
objectives of the study are presented below:
1. There is no significant difference in the extent of learning
styles in mathematics when grouped and compared according to the
aforementioned variables.
2. There is no significant difference in the level of academic
performance in mathematics when grouped and compared according to
the aforementioned variables.
3. There is no significant relationship between the extent of
learning styles and the level of academic performance.

The mean scores for the learning styles were interpreted using the
following guide:
