Architecture is both an art and science, dealing with design and development of physical
structure, from the macro level of urban planning to the micro level-basic construction details.

The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the Joint Services academy of the Indian Armed
Forces, where cadets of the three services, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force train together
before they go on to respective service academies for further pre-commissioning training.

Entrance Examination
To join National Defence Academy a candidate must appear in the entrance exam conducted by
Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi, twice a year. The Union Public Service

AGRICULTURE
Agriculture plays an important role in driving the state of Indian economy. The agricultural
education system in the country offers programmes in 11 specific disciplines viz. agriculture,
veterinary science, agricultural engineering, forestry, home science, dairy technology, fisheries,
sericulture, marketing, banking and co-operation, horticulture and food science.

Specialization and Nature of Work

• Agricultural Scientist: They work towards developing better varieties of seed and plants
(agronomy), which are high yielding and have greater resistance against pests and diseases
(entomology). They may also work in other area having connection with agriculture like
improvements in quality of soil, food processing and preservation, agricultural by-products,
farm animals, soil and water conservation.
• Agricultural Engineer: They deal with agriculture machinery and power, soil and water
conservation, rural electrification and other technical aspects of farming as well as in
processing of farm products.
• Agriculture Officer: In the Department of Agriculture in every state the agricultural officer
handles all the development schemes relating to agricultural crops, seeds and yields as well as
fixes targets and does the monitoring.
