BRGY. GARBAGE CAGE

I. RATIONALE

Nowadays, we are suffering environmental dilemmas such as global warming, flash floods
and etc. One of the causes of these problems is the misbehavior of the people towards waste
management. Some people are reckless in throwing their garbage. They do not think of the possible
results of their actions on the environment as well as on health.

Waste Management is the collection, transport, processing or disposal, managing and


monitoring of waste materials. The term usually relates to materials produced by human activity,
and the process is generally undertaken to reduce their effect on health, the environment or
aesthetics. It is a distinct practice from resource recovery which focuses on delaying the rate of
consumption of natural resources

Every individual should take the responsibility of managing their wastes properly. Public
awareness campaigns are essential tools for environment protection. Thus, there is really a need to
encourage the people to be part of this objective, protecting our environment through proper waste
management.

Some countries have achieved considerable success in solid waste management. But the
rest of the world is grappling to deal with its wastes. In these places, improper management of solid
waste continues to impact public health of entire communities and cities; pollute local water, air
and land resources; contribute to climate change and ocean plastic pollution; hinder climate change
adaptation; and accelerate depletion of forests and mines.

In regard of this, our project “Garbage Cage of Brgy. Namocon" aims to provide Garbage
Cage and educate the youths and residents to manage their wastes as well as to identify the
materials they are using in managing their waste.
II. OBJECTIVES
o To enhance and increase the awareness of Brgy. Namocon youths and residents about
proper waste disposal and segregation.
o To promote cleanliness and orderliness in the baranggay.
o To promote solidarity and cooperation among Brgy. Namocon youths and residents for
community development.
o To provide garbage cage.
o After implementation of the project in Brgy. Namocon, it is expected that the brgy. will have
less flood problems and be able to segregate their wastes properly.
o It is also expected that the other task perform by the youths and residents will be a big
example to include it in their own daily routine practices and activities.
o Generally, this project intends to enhance proper waste disposal and segregation as a key to
prevent flood and to prevent the attack of any diseases in Barangay Namocon.
