3000psi SERVO CYLINDERS

The Series-L- Hydraulic Servo cylinder is designed and manufactured for continuous
duty service in the most demanding applications and industries.
Introduced in 1997, this Cylinder has a proven track record in installations ranging from
aerospace test-rigs to sawmill-mill equipment.
Every cylinder is manufactured to the most exacting tolerances, tested and flushed prior
to it leaving the factory.

Pertinent Features

Piston:
Made from 6061-T6 aluminum to reduce mass and improved acceleration/
deceleration performance.
Extra wide design for optimal guidance and stability under severe side-load
conditions.
Threaded to the piston rod and locked with high-strength adhesive and
mechanically locked with a cross-drilled roll pin.
Final machining of completed piston and rod-assembly for assured concentricity.
Rear-face machined to accept induction magnets for linear transducers.

Piston rod:
Made from hard chromed and ground 1045 steel the rod is gun-drilled to accept
infernally mounted rod-style linear transducers.
Available with three standard thread -styles and a variety of rod diameters to suit
any application.

Gland bushing:
Made from SAE 660 bearing bronze for optimum low-friction/bearing-life
performance. Special three seal design for zero leakage at pressure peaks
up to 5000 psi.
Cartridge design permits easy replacement of seals without special tools.
Optional bushing materials are available for special applications.

Valve mounting pattern:

The cap-end is available with either a universal mounting pattern to accept a
manifold sub plate or, in a single-piece design for specific valve makes and sizes.

Seals:
The low-mass piston incorporates a high-load seal with with a Nitrile energizer
ring and bronze impregnated Teflon wear bands for ultra-low friction and optimal
acceleration/deceleration.
Urethane gland packings, Nitrile gland seals and steel encased rod wipers ensure
trouble free operation in environments with a high degree of particle
contamination.
Standard operating temperature ranges from –40°F to 105°F.
Optional packing and seal configurations and materials are available for special
applications.

Special cylinders:
Servo cylinders up to 26 inch diameter are readily available. Please contact our
engineering department for additional information.
