TOTAL STATION SET-UP PROCEDURE

1. Find the benchmark or a certain point and mark it with circle.

2. Setup the tripod. Set its height in your chin level when their legs are together, spread the legs evenly
and make sure to put the center of the tripod in circle mark and stamp the feet of the tripod in the ground.

3. Put the total station in the tripod head. Screw the instrument using the center fixing screw.
4. Look at the optical plummet eyepiece. Make sure your instrument is aligned in the circle mark.

5. Level the instrument by using the levelling foot screw, look at the plate level and make sure the bubble
is placed at the center. Rotate the total station 90 degrees to make the plate level parallel to the two
levelling foot screw, do it again until the total station will be levelled in three direction. And look at the
circular bubble to make sure that the instrument is level in all direction.
