Triz Model Points (31 - 40) : Principle 31. Porous Materials

The document discusses various principles from the TRIZ model as they relate to Nikon cameras and lenses. It describes how Nikon applies anti-reflective coatings to lenses to minimize reflections and ensure clear images. It also discusses how Nikon cameras allow for customizing colors, uses high-homogeneity glass for lenses, can recover deleted photos using recovery software, can change image parameters through its Picture Control System, and uses carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic in new cameras.

TRIZ MODEL POINTS (31 – 40)

Principle 31. Porous Materials:

In Nikon part of the light that passes through the lens is reflected by the front (incident light)
and rear (exiting light) surfaces. This reduces the amount of light passing through the lens, so
the image appears to be dark. Also, the reflected light may cause ghosting and flare, affecting
image contrast. To minimize reflection on the lens surfaces and ensure clear, sharp images,
anti-reflective coating is applied.

Coating is applied to both surfaces of the lens. There are two main types of coating: a single
layer and multilayer (usually 3-5 layers). A multilayer coating effectively reduces reflected
light that cannot be eliminated with a single-layer coating, and increases the transmittance of
light.

Principle 32. Color Changes:

Nikon Z series Mirrorless, DSLR, COOLPIX and Nikon 1 digital cameras offer the option of
customizing color to suit your taste and style. As shown in following fig.

Special effects: Selective color

Principle 33. Homogeneity:
The Nikon NIFS series of synthetic silica glass is available in large high-homogeneity blanks.
With our proprietary synthesis, annealing and pressing processes, we are able to optimize our
materials for large high-homogeneity applications. These large blanks offer the same high-
end optical properties and internal qualities that we offer in our smaller materials. These
include high refractive index homogeneity, low stress birefringence, no striae in the requested
working direction, bubbles or inclusions. This material is suitable for a wide range of
applications.
Example of refractive index homogeneity:

These include high refractive index homogeneity, low stress birefringence, no striae in the

requested w orking direction, bubbles or inclusions.

Principle 34. Discarding and Recovering:

Nikon can discard and recover images. But in Nikon photo recovery is more difficult or even
impossible. Nikon Photo Recovery Software is use to recover discard or delete photo. photo
recovery software such as Stellar Photo Recovery is one of safest and most effective tools to
restore deleted photos in case you’re facing an obsolete or no backup situation.
The software works in complex loss situations and recovers even from reformatted or corrupt
SD card, microSD card, SDHC, SDXC, hard drive, pen drive etc. Plus, it restores
uncompressed RAW photos shot with Nikon DSLR, Mirrorless, or Point & Shoot cameras,
without affecting their original quality.

Principle 35. Parameter Changes:

Parameter changes means physical changes. In case of Nikon physical changes can be in
Nikon’s image. Nikon can change its parameter through Picture Control System. This Picture
Control System changes image drastically.

Principle 40. Composite Structures:

Nikon uses carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic in new cameras. Nikon has devised a
solution in collaboration with Teijin (this allows the camera’s structural parts to achieve high
strength and electromagnetic shielding and make surface smooth), by using its intermediate
materials and processing technologies for the high volume production of carbon fiber
reinforced thermoplastic components.
