Strengths:

1. Average Issue readership of 16+ million

2. The publishing company is listed on National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange

3. 36 editions currently published across eleven states in India

4. MMI Online is the digital media wing of Jagran testing new ideas

5. Strong brand presence and substantial market share

Weakness:

● Isn’t as popular online as compared to english papers

● Limited presence in the country

● No local and regional languages present in the paper

Opportunities
1. Adequate usage of online epaper to generate more revenue by promoting ads and other

commercials

2. Well-utilization of existing resources can increase the readership further

3 .Big opportunity exits in South India to be exploited

Threats:

1. Cut-throat competition from other players in the industry

- Major Competitors are:

​Dainik Bhaskar​, the number 1 hindi daily in Madhya Pradesh owned by D B

Corp Ltd. This newspaper targets the youth of India and with its ​strong network in

nine states in different languages to suit the local dialect has made it the largest daily

paper in Madhya Pradesh.

​Amar Ujala​ i​ s ​one of the top largest hindi daily newspaper with over 8 million

subscribers​ This newspaper targets hindi speaking ​business men, students and

politicians. This newspaper is distributed across 8 states in India and is the fourth largest

Hindi daily newspaper in India. Amar Ujala is also known for its transparency and its

promise to showcase the truth in its entirety which has helped with social awakening and

inducing a sense of responsibility among the people.

2. Need to get number 1 position:

- In order to get and keep the number one spot in the state the newspaper might face a drastic

increase in overall expenses which can be harmful to the health of the paper in the long run.
