Objectives :
By the end of this lesson, students should be able to :
- Greet people and introduce themselves to others.
- Ask about name and age.
- Understand a simple dialogue
Procedures :
1/ wam up
- Teacher greets students.
- He gives his name by saying for instance : My name is …… I’m your teacher. I’m your English teacher.
- T asks individual ss : What’s your name ?
- T insists that ss say : My name is……

2/ Setting the scene :
The teacher introduces the characters in the 3 dialogues using : ‘this is……’
a. Pre-teaching vocab :
School = example : Ibn zaydon is a school in Agadir
Language centre = Arabic, French and English are languages
ALC is a language centre ( American Language Centre )
Park = This is a park ( shows a pic)
Classroom = Realia ( or pic ) …/ we are in the classroom.
b.while teaching
The teacher reads the dialogues then ss reread them in groups / pairs.
3/ Do this
a. T explains what is meant by ‘ true’ and ‘ false’
2+3 = 5 : true / 2+1 = 3 : false
Ss do exercise n° 1 p11 in their exercise notebooks
- Whole class correction
4/ What’s your name ?
T. reads out the mini dialogue then ss repeat the exchanges in small groups.
5/ How old are you ?
Ss complete the missing numbers ( ex. N°3 p 11 )
Ss ask each other this question : How old are you ? ( open and closed pairs )
6/ Role play
Teacher two students to rehearse a simple dialogue and ask more questions. For example :
S1 = Hello ! what’s your name ?
S2 = Hi ! my name is……
S1 = How old are you ?
S2 = I’m………
7/ Homework
Complete this dialogue using these words :
Eleven – name – old – Rachida – I’m – Hello – Kamal
Girl : ……….! I’m…………………………What’s your……………………..?
Boy : Hi ! My name’s…………………….
Girl : How………………….are you ?
Boy : I’m……………………… And you ?
Girl :…………………………….twelve years old.
