1.1 Vehicle Tracking

A basis for remote vehicle monitoring, it’s a small hardware device mounted inside the car or truck.
The device is actually an Onboard Computer with GPS and wireless communication capabilities that
transfers all relevant information from the vehicle to the fleet management centre.

About the technology

• Vehicle current position and status


It’s simple as that: MapmyIndia’s VTS( Vehicle Tracking System) lets you see any vehicle’s
position and status in real time, at any place, at any time.

• Vehicle history analysis


It gives you straight answers to the questions like: where did the vehicle drive for the last, say,
10 days, where did it stop, how fast did it drive, was there over speeding moments, how many
kilometers did it make, and much more.

• GIS support
Having its strong background in Digital Mapping and car navigation technologies, MapmyIndia
integrated its superior digital map technology into the MapmyIndia’s VTS, thus giving its users
one of the most advanced road oriented GIS systems available today.

• Routing and route optimization


The integral part of MapmyIndia’s VTS is the route calculator and route optimization engine.
You can calculate road distances, make optimal route calculations between any numbers of
geographical points and solve Traveling Salesman Problem with just a few mouse clicks.

3.3 Application

Screen 1: Login Page

• Enter Account ID, Username and password and then click login button. (Use Guest for demo)
Screen 2: Main Page shows you where you vehicle currently is

• Click to get the address of the vehicles current location.


Screen 3: Live Track Page

• Click “Live Track” to see live position, speed, movement status of the vehicle.
Screen 4: Replay Route Page

Used to replay routes already covered by the Vehicle in the past.

• Click “Trip History” to see the history of the vehicle.

• Select device  select “Start Date”  select “End Date”  Click “GO”

• Click to run the vehicle history.

• Click to pause the vehicle history

• Click Back to go Trip History Page.


Screen 6: Report Page

Report Page basically helps you see data coming from the Vehicle in an informative manner.

• Click on the “REPORTS” view the available vehicle reports. (Currently only 3 Reports available :
“Movement Report, Stoppage Summary Report and Vehicle Area Report“ )

• Click on the “Movement Report”.

• Select Vehicle Number  select “Start Date”  select “End Date”  Click “Generate Reports”.
Report View:

• Click to export data to excel file.

• Select Summary/Detail reports view.


Screen 7: Alerts Page

Alerts Page is dedicated to create condition for alerts (SMS/E-mail). Currently 3 types of alerts are
available.

1. Over Speed Alert: You can set the speed limit of the vehicle. Violation of the rule can generate
the alert.

2. Stoppage Alert : You can create the stoppage time alerts for a vehicle
3. Area Entry-Exit Alert : Area Alerts basically helps a user to find out weather a Vehicle has
entered/ left an Area/ Area’s which have been stored in the system.

• Click on the “AREA ALERTS” view and create the Geozone.

• Select the Geozone and click “View” to view the available Geozone.

• To create the new Geozone : Click “Create new Geozone”  write the Geozone ID Select “Radius
Right Click on the map Click “Mark My Location Here” click “Submit“
