MAJOR PLATE NO. 2
TITLE: A proposed INTER Modal Transportation Terminal
DATE GIVEN:
PROJECT DURATION: 3 TO 4 Weeks
MODE: INDIVIDUAL
INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE PROJECT
It is recognized that while much has been achieved recently, the performance of the transport sector should be much
better; there are major opportunities for enhancing sector performance. The government has somehow demonstrated
a limited ability to execute major improvements.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
You will be asked to design a terminal located on the existing national port and coastal area of Batangas pier and
primarily serving CALABARZON. Bear in mind that demand in the transportation sector is increasing with the advent
of globalization. This in turn, put pressures on the providers of services to render improved quality and reliability. This
requires the transport system to perform as a seamless system, rather than a collection of disparate modes. No
longer can the increase in efficiency depend solely upon expansion but a shift towards understanding intermodal
activity is necessary to improve the system.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Create a Terminal design that will address the issues of a transport terminal using the principles of urban
         planning and community planning.
Create a architectural design that will serve as an gateway for tourist and commuters around Batangas and
         neighboring province
Maintain and strengthen a recognizable identity and character unique to its design.
Provide needed flexibility to respond to unique conditions and constraints inherent to specific areas within
         the community.
