Research Methodology
Research means a systematic investigation. Research may be defined as a
process of knowing new facts & verifying old ones by application of
scientific methods to a natural or social phenomenon. Research
methodology is a master plan for conducting the research study. It should
be noted that a research methodology is unique to a research design
researcher may take help of descriptive research study. Descriptive
research involves the description of the characteristics of the extend of
association between variables and it allows the researches to infer about
the variables.
Research Design
A research design is utilized to structure the research, to indicate that all
the major elements of the research have been designed to work together.
There are numerous types of research designs that one may decide to use.
The study follows the survey method, questionnaire and data analysis.
This project report also used some statistics tools like frequency,
percentage etc.
The data collection was through primary and secondary sources. Primary data was
the one where the researcher interviewed and observed the Clients and gave them
questionnaire to fill for the purpose a study on “A study on factor influencing
customer preference for purchase a car with respect to Maruti Suzuki Pvt.Ltd
(Shantesha Motors) ’’at ‘chikkodi ’. Researcher has taken survey of 100 Clients
who has availed the services from Shantesha Motors and filled the questionnaire
from them.
Sample Design
A sample design is the framework or road map, which serves as the basis
for the selection of a survey sample and affects many other important
aspects of a survey as well. Sample design is a plan structure and strategy
of investigation conceived to obtain answer to research question and
control variance. Researcher has collected the data from Customers
visiting Shantesha Motors
a) Population
Population includes all those respondents in chikkodi city and nearby
areas like Hukeri, Bailonghal, Gokak, Sankeshwar, Khanapur, etc who
come to the store for any query about the car or those who show
inclination in purchasing the vehicle
b) Sample Size
Sample size is the number of observations used for calculating estimates
of a given population. Therefore the sample size taken for this study
was100.
c) Sampling Method
A sampling method is a procedure for selecting sample members from a
population. Sample design is a definite plan of obtaining some items from
the whole population. In this survey researcher has used convenience
sampling as our sampling method. In this type of sampling respondents
are picked based on convenience of the researcher i.e. taking samples
from people whom a researcher meets or are available. Convenience
sampling is simple, low budget and does not require a list of population.
d) Survey Method
The primary data has been collected through questionnaire from the
customer who walked in to the Shantesha Motors and the secondary data
has been collected using internet and brochure, etc. The survey was
conducted through structured questionnaire method of data collection.
Questionnaire
While drafting the questionnaire, researcher has concentrated on the
statement of the problem to know the reasons for drops or rise in their
different services at Shantesha Motors .
The questionnaire includes close-ended question.
