Renaissance art

is the painting, sculpture and decorative arts of the period


of European history, emerging as a distinct style in Italy in
about 1400, in parallel with developments which occurred in
philosophy, literature, music, and science.

Renaissance
The Renaissance was a fervent period of European cultural,
artistic, political and economic “rebirth” following the
Middle Ages.
Characterized by accurate anatomy, scientific perspective
and deeper landscape.
Painters depicted real – life figures.
Sculptures were naturalistic portraits of human being.
Architecture during this period was characterized by its
symmetry and balance.

birth of secular art.
- The focus was on realistic and humanistic art.

brought man into a full view just like the human figure in
greek art.
