ORATORICAL DECLAMATION ENTRY

It is an honor to stand before a gathering of individual advocates of Scholarship, Character and Service.
I pray that I may have the strong spirit as I would live up and deliver the power of these strong and great words.
Lend me your ears as I fulfil my purpose today and may the spirit of oneness be with us all.

Since the birth of humanity, the world has proven Shakespeare’s famous line “All the world’s a stage.”
This wisdom has amplified one vital truth- you, me, all of us are born to play our part. Each of us has significant
scripts where we give life to who we want to become and which way we want to take. Every corner of this planet
is a breeding ground of those who show the strength to let their existence be known. Speaking of which, I am
bravely standing here and taking my part with a sole purpose in mind. Now that the Senior High School days
have started, I have one special question for you to answer. Do you have the courage to put up your own stage?

If your answer is NO, let us focus our lenses to the next question, WHY? Science speaks that when one
says no, there could only be two reasons for it. It is either you’re AFRAID or you’re UNREADY. Let’s take out
“afraid” and let’s zoom our consciousness to it. Why are we afraid? What are we actually afraid of?

Statistics show that most people are afraid to commit to something because of the fear of failure. Nobody
wants to bear the disgusted smirk of a friend nor the disappointed brows of a family. Nobody wants to carry the
burden of shame just because the mere thought of it is sickening. No one dares to stand in front of a yelling
crowd because he thinks a single mistake would eat him alive. In simple explanation, someone says no because
he’s afraid of pain, of rejection and of indifference! Are you not interested to become somebody? If this is so, do
you intend to be afraid forever?

Now, let’s try to uncover why other men would say no because they’re unready. Yes, being prepared is
a one-take pill that gives you the energy to press that start button and go on. It is something that comes in time,
matures in time and stays in time. But actually, so far, if you try to check it base on facts, men discovered time
and how it can be measured a long time ago. So if we think about it, men can actually manipulate time and not
the other way around. My point is, if you let time control you, our mind would always create an illusion that speaks
of our unwillingness, reluctance and refusal. Time, if not valued as it should be, would supply us lots of minutes,
hour after hour, days turned into years, until we realize there’s not much seconds left. It is only until then that
we’ve wasted so much that we forgot we can’t reverse the clock and that we haven’t done a single thing. If this
is the case, on the next tick tock, tick tock, what would you willing to do?

Don’t you think it’s time now to unleash that small voice inside you? That small voice that awaits your
command, awaits your guts and awaits…you? Haven’t you thought that it’s time to brave the speed of your
heartbeat than be afraid of its sound? Ladies and gentlemen, it is now time to unleash the stallions in us. Let us
untie the ropes that hold our potentials to become accomplished athletes, great writers, skilled singers, famed
movie makers, expert artists and monumental leaders. Let us stop trekking the easy way because it is in trying
and trying, that we’ll know we can. We are so distracted in minding what people would say that we forgot it is
our stand which matters most. We are so busy thinking what can go wrong instead of knowing what can go right.
Let us not stay within our box just because people build walls against us. Let us not hide on the mouth of fear
when we can delight ourselves in the essence of learning and growing. Let us learn to build the stairs to our
dreams using every stone thrown at us. Importantly, let us free the horses that long ask for freedom and in time,
reap independence through solid dedication and hard work.

Since nothing comes easy, if life gives us heartbreaking moments then soon we’ll realize it’s through
them that we remain steadfast in our conquest. It is in our downfall that we’re given the chance to find the missing
link and once again stand to continue what we’ve started. The tears that fall from your swollen eyes are the ones
that feed the growth of your heart. Stop worrying on what might happen along the way because both good and
bad experiences can become your advantage. Know that everything happens for a reason and there’s a season
for everything. If one finds the value of working hard to reach the ends of what we aim, then one can say every
single thing is worth everything of you.

Let us then start giving a clear vision to our blurry eyes. The four-walled classrooms that give us comfort
aren’t enough to maximize our talents and treasures. Remember that we are Stallions, we need the whole field
to finish the race. Don’t stay reading your books when you can actually turn your imagination to reality. Don’t
waste your time sitting in the corner when you can actually shoot a ball. Don’t fall asleep when you can swim
deeper to the midst of the waves. Don’t just stand there when you can run. Don’t put in your earphones when
you can make use of the microphone. Don’t just stare when you can actually talk. Don’t just say NO when you
can actually answer YES!

Now that everything is said, the next challenge starts after your first gallop. The first of the many gallops
may not be as strong as you want it to be but take heart, what matters most is how you finish the race. Enjoy
every footprint that you make because it represents every memory you leave behind. There will be a lot hurdles
along the way that sometimes they’re so much to take but they are there to make you strong. They are there so
you can strengthen your legs for the next leap. They are there because you need them so you can be stronger,
greater!

Stronger and greater Stallions don’t hide! Let us unleash the real us! Unleash STALLIONS!
