SAN PABLO CITY SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL – the name says it all. Standing under the hot,
bright sun while keeping its well-built institution, fighting for its mission and vision, for students to
realize their purpose and potential to build a better nation. From rising of the sun to its setting, from
the moment those indulgent people wake up from, the idea to build such an institution like this
started from nothing to something. The building of this school is truly a picture of solidarity, a true
symbol of unity of teachers and its stakeholders. This was all because of the people who invested
their time and effort to come up with this brilliant establishment. The people who gave their trust
to every batch of students for the sole purpose of letting them break through their limits and for
explore the things they thought they can’t do. This institution allows students to make impossible
things to possible ones. It’s as gorgeous as the sunset and it gives hope like the sunrise. Perfect as
it seems but it is a mess, a beautiful mess.
Actually, the name of this school alone can already bring the students too much pressure,
because from the very start this is an establishment made for San Pablo City’s gifted students. The
youth who have exceptional intelligence or the cream of the crop as they say. Being a part of this
institution required us to cross a tough road full of challenges but despite the hardships, it was all
worth it. SciHigh actually had a rough start as a school and as an institution. We came here to find
our rooms with no windows and barely anything but chairs and a blackboard. It was a shock for
us who were used to decent buildings and complete facilities. The absence of these can affect
the quality of education the school offers. Budget allocation? We can say that maybe we were
the least priority that time. Eventually, the stakeholders began increasing in number but the
facilities did not seem to follow the same trend. Going through challenges as a school to achieve
the betterment of our institution was like a thread going through a needle eye. The thread
symbolizes the school while the needle eye represents the trials we must face. It is hard for a thread
to go through a needle’s hole but you cannot get to sewing without doing this. Just like our
previous situation, we had to go through a great challenge just so we could develop our beloved
second home. Pros, cons and more cons. This is the life that the SciHigh family has. It is just like the
behavior of a graph in Mathematics. Sometimes the trend is rising or falling. SciHigh faced ups and
downs in this journey to become the magnificent institution it is today. It really was a rough road
yet we still managed to pass through all those rough times. We have really come far. We finally
have a building of our own. Our education is still of great quality. Yeah… we have really come a
long way.
In everything that we do, we all started from scratch. We encountered a lot of challenges.
Oftentimes, these really put us to our knees. But these are all part of our journey. We may enter a
world of trouble trying to figure out how to solve our problems. We can end up soiling ourselves in
this path but we will always strive for the best… for the sake of our second home. It may get messy
but don’t worry because what really matter is the beauty within the mess.
