Q: Is Looking After The Benefit of Your Own Family Overall Other Aspects Considered As Another Form of Egoism?

Looking after the benefit of one's own family is not a form of egoism for several reasons: 1) The family is beyond just the self and includes others, so focusing on family benefits cannot be an exercise of pure self-interest. 2) In egoism, one only focuses on their own happiness and desires, but caring for family requires thinking about the happiness and needs of others. 3) Prioritizing family over other activities or relationships is considered ethical and putting family first is not merely selfish behavior.

Q: Is looking after the benefit of your own family overall other aspects considered as

another form of egoism?

As we all know, the family is the basic unit of the society. Putting everything out of perspective, family still
makes sense as the first society we have been to and they are the ones who cared for us and made us who we
are today, hence, there is only a little of room of self interest in the family since all of the people involved could
have different idolatry, the different interest. Family gives us mostly everything that we need since they suffice us
as we grow older and in return, we should also repay their efforts with the same compassion that they give us,
materially or not.

Before understanding the question we must first know the difference of all the egoisms since they are far apart
from either being teleological or not. By basing the question on learning the different types of egoism, I can say
that looking for the benefit of my own family overall other aspects is not a form of egoism. Looking out for your
family means doing your best to participate with them, by making your bonds solely inclined with your family,
nothing more and nothing less. As people say, you need to sacrifice time and pleasure to focus on certain things
that are ethical in ideas such as looking out for your family. If we say egoism, we focus on our self-interest, but
we cannot say that it is our self-interest to look for the benefit of our family since the family is beyond the self,
someone beyond the I, which means to say that you cannot exercise self-interest and look at the benefits of
your family at the same time. In egoism, you can only focus on what you really like to do and not thinking about
the people since you only want to obtain the quality of happiness by yourself but in terms of family, you are
thinking about the sake of others, whether they will have the same quality of happiness as you have.

Family surely is the priority out of everything. You can postpone going out with your friends, going on a vacation
or a weekend fondue with your fiancée just to be with your family, merely not an egoism as we say because
such things are far not greater than the family itself, but everything about my statements depends on the
situation that it is in because as we all know, moral and ethical thinking changes upon adaptability of the self.
Looking after your family is not mere selfish because as I have said earlier, family is the basic unit of society, they
have different perspective on everything.
