PRO (BERLIANA AYU R./08)

Good afternoon. I am from “PRO” side. I chose the topic about national exam.

Firstly, national exam is necessary for students as a requirement to graduate from a


school. The quality of the Indonesia education will drop without the national exam, so
they try to defend the current system.

Secondly, national examination can motivate students to study harder.


With a national examination students can learn the whole chapter during school.

Thirdly, national examination needs to be held as indicator of the success of education


in this country. The presence of national examination will make teachers and students
work harder to achieve the best results in the national examinations.

So, from the reason I reached the conclusion that national exam is necessary for
student because can motivate student to study harder and to be held of the success of
education in this country.

CONTRA (BRAMANTIO DAMARJATI/09)

Good afternoon. I am from “CONTRA” side. Our topic today we don’t agree with you.

Firstly, the equalization of passing grade is not in accordance with the actual situation.
National examination can lead to discrimination for schools that are in the outskirts and
far from adequate access to education

Secondly, the quality of education does not just depend on the national exam. Further,
the national exam only measures a small portion of students’ competence in specific
subjects

Thirdly, national exam is not a suitable way to measure student's abilities. The
implementation of the national examination prone to fraud such as the selling of answer
key, and the distribution that is sometime late become the weakness of the
implementation of national examination.

In my conclusion, we say that the national exam is not in accordance with actual
situation and quality of education doesn’t just depend on the national exam, as well as
national exam not suitable way to measure student’s abilities.
