ACTIVITY 1

INSTRUCTIONS DIAGRAM
1. This drill will help practice
short serves
2. Three servers on one side
of the court
3. Three passers on opposite
side of the end line
4. Server attempts to serve
as short as possible
without making an error
into the net.
5. Passer starts on end line
when serve is contacted
the player runs and tries
to catch ball before it
hits the ground.
6. Server gets 1 point for
every ball that lands
without the passer being
able to catch it.
7. Passer must run back to
the end line.
Serving 8. Repeat for a set amount
Bombs away of time, 2-3 minutes.
9. Make sure the passers
are waiting until ball is
contacted before
moving
10. Encourage them to
anticipate where the
ball will go

Variation

 Add a target and


have the passers
attempt to pass the
ball. Passers stay until
they get a set
number of passes to
the target. Go in
groups or individually.
 Have two passers per
server behind the
end line and let the
servers serve rapid
fire, count to 3 or five
between serves.

ACTIVITY 2
INSTRUCTIONS DIAGRAM
1. This volleyball drill will
practice serving accurately
and getting to a base
position as quickly as
possible.
2. 3 servers on the serving line
starting with one volleyball
each
3. Players each have a
volleyball on the serving line
4. Players serve to a zone
5. Then they sprint to their
base defensive position,
pick up a volleyball, and
sprint back to the serving
line
6. Repeat as desired with a
Serving scoring method from

serving relay  1 point for an accurate
serve, -1 point for an
error, player is trying to
get specified number of
points
7. Pre-set a specified time
where players have to get
a certain number of
accurate serves in that time
period
8. Player with the most
number of accurate serves
wins when a specified time

behind the serving line,
waiting for their turn to
rotate and switch with

INSTRUCTIONS DIAGRAM
1. This drill focuses on serving to
the corners of the opposing
court.
2. Set up the same number of
cones in all four corners of
the court. Example: 6 cones
in each corner
3. Divide the team into two
groups, each group on
opposite serving lines. Each
player needs a volleyball.
4. The object of the drill is to
knock down the other teams
cones on the opposing
court.
5. Teams alternate turns
serving one at a time as in a
game situation.
6. The team that knocks all the
