Barangay Aclan is a coastal village located in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte in the Philippines. It was originally inhabited by the Manobo tribe and was named "Aclan" after their leader, Datu Atlan. “HISTORY OF ACLAN”

Long time ago there live a manobo tribe along the


seashore between two rivers called minusog this was
headed by a Datu named “Atlan” whose people was
to the mountain invaded by muslim pirates, Few
years, muslim pirates was driven by the Spaniards.
Datu Atlan, upon knowing of their friendship with
the Spaniards Datu Atlan called the place after his
name “ATLAN” in year 1957 barangay atlan was
change to “ACLAN” therefore aclanos will celebrate
every 29, Years day of april as “ARAW NG ACLAN”

TOPOGRAHPY
Barangay Aclan is a coastal place located in the
western part of the Municipalities of Nasipit about
6.5km and 1.5km from Municipalities of Carmen
Agusan Del Norte. Some part is Mountinoius, Valleys
and plain. Barangay Aclan is along National highway
and has a total land Area of 195,1185 hectares.
Aclan is a barangay in the municipality of Nasipit, in
the province of Agusan del Norte. Its population as
determined by the 2015 Census was 2,354. This
represented 5.61% of the total population of Nasipit.
DEMOGRAHPICS
Population by age group
Combining age groups together, those aged 14 and
below, consisting of the the young dependent
population which include infants/babies, children
and young adolescents/teenagers, make up an
aggregate of 38.95% (917). Those aged 15 up to 64,
roughly, the economically active population and
actual or potential members of the work force,
constitute a total of 56.24% (1,324). Finally, old
dependent population consisting of the senior
citizens, those aged 65 and over, total 4.80% (113) in
all.
The computed Age Dependency Ratios mean that
among the population of Aclan, there are 69 youth
dependents to every 100 of the working age
population; there are 9 aged/senior citizens to every
100 of the working population; and overall, there are
78 dependents (young and old-age) to every 100 of
the working population.
The median age of 20 indicates that half of the entire
population of Aclan are aged less than 20 and the
other half are over the age of 20.

According to the 2015 Census, the age group with


the highest population in Aclan is 5 to 9, with 330
individuals. Conversely, the age group with the
lowest population is 75 to 79, with 14 individuals.

HISTORICAL OF POPULATION

The population of Aclan grew from 1,308 in 1990 to


2,354 in 2015, an increase of 1,046 people. The
latest census figures in 2015 denote a positive
growth rate of 1.15%, or an increase of 137 people,
from the previous population of 2,217 in 2010.

125.2973, in the island of Mindanao. Elevation at
these coordinates is estimated at 268.3 meters or

FOOD DELICACY
 Toron (Banana cue)- Bananacue is term used
to call fried skewered plantains cooked with
brown sugar. This is a staple in the
Philippines, and is mostly consumed as a mid-
afternoon snack.
 Biko is a sweet rice cake from the Philippines. It is made of
coconut milk, brown sugar, and glutinous rice. It is usually
topped with latik. It is a type of kalamay dish and is prepared
similarly, except the rice grains are not ground into a paste.
They are also sometimes packaged and sold as suman.
